Salvador is indeed an old model, & it's K-Leather. Umbro Match Bronze I dunno, it is synthetic though. There are a few SSG boots U can find in Pertama, I saw another Umbro model, the one with the cross on the front, & another one was Diadora.

Sheep319 Nike Tiempo Match is one of the best budget gloves out there. Another one is also from Nike, I think the model is T90 Wired Classic, about RM79.90. Other than that maybe U can try Puma, or even Joma. For me, I will put some features in the gloves that I consider essential before purchasing it. Among them is elastic wristband and wrapped thumb.

shiloong Sorry, the one I'm using is Tiempo Grips (RM110.00). I've never used Tiempo Match, but I have tested it & I think it's a very good budget gloves.

kcng Yeah, I haven't been able to train as often as I would've liked, & it looks like I'm not gonna be able to play next season as I've to go for a 6-month course starting January. So I have to decline some offers to play next season. Some teams invited me to play for them, & it looks like I have to find a team that trains in the afternoon (after office hrs), I dun think I can commit for evening training sessions now. However, still, it looks like I won't be playing competitively next season, unless those teams can allow me to play after June...very unlikely

what is ssg? my guesss would be screw ins?? screw in got sell short studs like fg? what im trying to do is buy screw ins and use it for both sg and fg conditions, changing studs when necessary.

It's not the old T90 Wired with the flexible wires as FPS. The T90 Wired I was referring to has no FPS, just uses T90 Wired cosmetics. Still, at under RM80, it offers good features like wrapped thumb & elastic cuffs.

I dun really know what SSG means, becoz only Umbro uses that monicker. I believe it means Super Soft Ground. SG boots normally means removable studs, wether it's the classic six studs or the newer bladed studs. Normally for 6 studs SG boots, the rear studs are taller than the front studs. So if U buy replacement studs, U'll get 4 tall ones & 8 short ones. If you want to use all short ones then U'll have to buy 2 sets la. But I'd recommend sticking to the original configs, since the minimal number of studs means it can be used in almost all types of pitches, except the real hard ones.

When I was playing in UKM, I could use SG boots in all 4 fields. In KL League, so far I've played in about 5 different pitches. The official KL League grounds, the KL Hospital ground, I use my Adidas Salvador as the ground is very hard. The same goes for Kem Bt Cantonment. I used SG boots when playing in MSN Bkt Jalil, UM, and Stadium KLFA Cheras. As I've said in previous post, if possible bring both boots to the field & test.

I've never seen Brine gloves locally. But maybe somebody will bring in Reusch, some keepers in the M-League have started to use them. Personally, I'd like to try Sells.

yeah i understand, that is why i always go with 2 pairs or more. I have 4 pairs by the way.

usually i will buy one RM 30 or cheaper gloves, use it as my primary wan lor.

then the other 3 i wear if got real match / tourney / and such lor.....

if normal futsal session or play for fun, i will wear that cheap wan....
i know how it's like to be a student... i was in exactly same situation as you too...

buy dimpled ones like i did lo.or buy hardground wan. another to consider is admiral gloves, which has rough surface on the palm... forgot the model, but my school used it for under 15 and under 13. so it must be durable enough to withstand usage by 2 or more keepers. when i wore it it had a tear, but nothing else.. bout my asics, even tho the first day i used , 2 mm came off from palm.. coz maybe i dived on the sand. brand's asics.. but i nvr see asics brand gloves other than that? lol. i got a rare item here.

Hmm, I guess most of U guys here are playing futsal rite ? For futsal, where U dun really catch that much, buy those gloves with ping-pong type palms, but make sure they have adequate padding so that it won't hurt that much when U palm the ball away. Also, I'd attribute most of the "injuries" to the gloves to glove care & usage style. Remember to moistn Ur gloves' palm so that it's soft enuf. If & whenever possible, avoid damaging the palm by using it to get up (after a dive), swinging on the crossbar, etc. Dun follow those pros, they get a new glove whenever they ask for it.

Also, cheap gloves usually they dun have that ergonomic cut between your thumb and index finger (where a glove is most likely to tear). If possible, look for gloves that is double-stitched in that area.

EPL's gonna start tonite, Very anxious to see what my fav keepers are gonna wear this season. There won't be any new releases after the World Cup, I guess, except for Nike. They have yet to release the Mercurial Vent goves. Lehmann's gonna use the T90 Gunn Cut I think, it's his favorite glove cut.

I'll see if I can arrange a get together for us by end of this month.
