My opinion only. For what asstro gives out the cheapest HDMI cable will suffice..........as they say rubbish in rubbish out,so use those super cables on other media players/3D , but its a waste on astro decorders! hmm.gif Mostly upscaled stuffs! As far astro is concerned my credit goes to my TV and AVR which are doing a great job on the PQ tongue.gif

HDMI cable doesn't matters because the signal it transfers is in Digital.

The VOD interface also changed with poster and 'Like' features. But still no release year, subtitles info.

Check more about it here
Basically the higher it goes, the more features it has. Like HDMI 1.4 it has 4K support and 2.0 has 4K support at 60fps and some better audio quality.
Pretty useless for us if we don't have the right equiqment and content so yeah. Use the cable that comes with your decoder or buy some longer generic cables if you need longer length. No need to buy all that "GOLD Plated" or "High Speed Ethernet" or "3D" support if you only use it for your astro. hehe
Just my two cents. smile.gif

are you sure HDMI doesn't matter? if not why when we are using co-axial cable..RCA cable.. it did make a different? the image is superior..
it transfer in digital directly from SAT.. but our equipment to the decoder ..also need to be use with right cable...right?

maybe HDMI 1.4 is not supported by the current Decoder..just like you mentioned..not the right equipment. after all 1.4 only for higher resolution..and higher speed.. 3d..etc..

btw Gold Plated is a plus to have ..for any typed of cables.. even in small accessories such as earphones..because gold is the best conductive for electricity and corrosion-resistant.

anyway, im also concerned about the cheap HDMI cable which they provided .. what version anyone knows? if already version 1.3.. no need to buy lor.. huhuhu..

version 1.3 i think la, couldn't be so bad until its 1.0 or 1.1?
Doesn't happens to HDMI, you search google. Only analog signals(composite, component, coaxial and etc) will need quality cables. Distance does matter though but that's another story..

RCA co axial = analog. HDMI = Digital.
For digital 1+1 always = 2, whether gold, copper or fibre,

I am using the same decoder as yours but not getting this firmware. Last time I tried the CH+ Power button method to force update but it is not working. Mind to share how you get it to force update?

Just force update mine. Twice. But nothing changes. My decoder is Samsung PVR with built in WiFi.
