I was told the reason U Mobile reduced their prepaid validity is a shortage of phone numbers, due to no new allocation by SKMM.

It should be more or less like that. If those who only uses the sim to receive call(aka rarely reload) let their sim expire, then it'll make way to new 'potential customers' that could use it in a more aggressive manner(aka will use more = will reload more = more money) |

@vostro78 - yes, it's a way to recycle the numbers more quickly.
And I hope at least one telco can offer 365 days validity for RM100 top up, as I feel that's a fair compromise for lighter users. This post has been edited by dgboy: Jan 10 2014, 12:36 PM |

Sorry, probably a very old and basic question but I can't find the answer:
Is the active period the same as number validity for U-Mob? Eg load $10 can use it 20 days then how long before number dies? PS: Looks like next post is the answer. Most likely 60 days after last top up? This post has been edited by oneeleven: Jan 11 2014, 09:49 PM |

From the FAQ for the new prepaid plan
What is the lifecycle validity of the new U Prepaid Pack? The new U Prepaid comes with a 30 days active and 60 days inactive period. Grace period reduced from 90 days to 60 days for the new plan. This post has been edited by dgboy: Jan 13 2014, 04:50 PM |

Dunno yet if this applies to the old plan too, yet that seems very likely since the old plan also kena downgraded validity.
