Old UMI28 - 1GB, 25 free SMS, 50 minutes free call to all

New UMI25 - 1GB, no free SMS, no free calls to all (only U)

RM3 = 100 SMS or 37.5 SMS to non-U or 30 minutes call to anyone

As long as I make some calls/SMS the old UMI28 is better =(

Of course, U28 is much more tempting now, but if I go there will never be able to go back to Umi28.... CnY Garage is the U28 extra 2GB data all-day? And any idea if Umi will update to match?

You can downgrade to u28 but free extra data and free talktime only available till 31 august ( 2 month only) after that u will back to usual u28 ( 1gb data + payu). This is what u mobile service ctr in kb said

u mobile call ctr said the same thing and only the new customer or mnp to u mobile will get this 3gb data and 50 minute talk permanently.

Anyone can confirm this?
*
If this is true, everyone needs to MNP out and then MNP back in =) any comment CnY Garage? Is the above true?

The new app shows me only have 300+ MB left of high speed data, but using *118# menu shows I only used 0.18GB out of 1GB so far. Confused much?

2.I think you will entitled for the international roaming 50mb. *(this is danger because if exceed the 50mb may be cost you a lot)

*
Paying with him no need to wait for enlightening, I can also tell. You PM him, he'll probably give you his phone number for whatsapp or email or something. You pay to his bank account, he'll do the reload. Got good discount (that amount I won't say la, you go ask him).

You should probably wait till next Thursday and see what new plan they may bring in. I'm waiting for that too.

QUOTE(xixo_12 @ Jul 15 2015, 10:11 AM)
my current plan is u50.. call 100minutes.. 2gb data

usually will fully utilize.. do you guys suggest to upgrade to p50..worth it?

data consume sometimes hit 2.8gb..
call never exceed 100min
*
You will get more data and less free call, how to say if worth it?

I will just say that the 50 minutes free call that you lose is RM5 worth, so you are paying less than RM5 a month (since your use don't exceed 100min) for 3 GB more.

I never been blacklisted.

What I meant was this shop owner said we cannot switch from postpaid of any telco, to Umobile postpaid.

Unless we cleared all outstanding fees with our existing telco and switch our line to prepaid. Only then we can go to them for MNP and keep our number.
*
This is probably just his own policy, as he not able to check whether you've settled your bill and not worth his time to do for you, if got problem is your fault but he will have to mafan.

Why not just go directly to U? Or contact CnY Garage, he can do for you while you sit at home.

Sounds tempting. I just bought their prepaid sim card less than a month a go and have never subscribe to any data plan yet. From what's written in their website, existing user can only switch after 1st august.
*
Actually now that I read more about it, may not be that worth it also. Mainly because the 'active period' is RM1 per day. So effectively you still need to pay them RM30 a month (last time RM30 will last 2 months) to keep the account active.

If have to pay RM30 a month may as well I go for U28 and get 3GB.....

i currently use UMI38 - mostly because I want the voice calls to all networks. So if i change the prepaid plan to FreeInternet4Life and continue to subscribe UMI38 - i will basically have 2GB data with 150mins of voice calls.. this correct?
*
Yes, correct.

QUOTE(gogo2 @ Jul 23 2015, 05:20 PM)
Why not go for U28? Flat rate 5cent call only.
*
I'm planning to do that too. But for some low usage people, better to stay on old prepaid (2x validity) and UMI20. Effective spend per month is RM20.

For postpaid we need to deposit rm28 while powerpack we pay none except for the simcard itself.  Omitting sms bonus still, powerpack seems worth the money. Losing 500mb for a contractual thingy is quite great as in umobile still charges for the service eventhough you do not use it. Unless you terminate the service.  I doubt we will get the depo upon termination? Prepaid is hassle free.  450mins to umobile is more than enough, same goes to 30mins to all telcos.  Just my 2cents. CorretCorrect me if i am wrong.  :|
*
Your deposit will be deducted against your last bill when terminating. You're ignoring SMS. 30 mins calls enough?

Obviously you're speaking for your own usage pattern only =) If everyone use like you then all these telcos no need to come out so many packages.

I just checked out U-mobile website and was interested with the P70 plan;

Free call 70 mins (30 mins everyday), and 7GB internet.

Was just wondering on U-mobile network and internet speed (latency)

Is there contract for the plan? Just in case no coverage and internet suk. I am staying in USJ, might move to Puchong soon (nearby Taman Mas). Additinally I travel around Malaysia for work which I am worried about the coverage.

Anyone can share? Hidden cost? Problem?
*
Why not just buy prepaid to test speed first? If you travel around Malaysia I would not recommend U, better to use Maxis (if mainly town) or Celcom (if got rural).

U is best in Klang Valley and some places (Penang for example), not for general travelling around.

I dont think calls are allowed, but look at below case

Lets see info case, monthly is 1gb free + 500mb umi20

So i assume each 10 days finish 500mb

At last day of active, buy umi20, that makes about 10 days without calls but still can use internet

So after finish 500mb quota, reload rm20, and can utilize the free calls, and if full cycle, get another 1gb

But that 10 day inactive period... Use whatsapp to contact people lah
*
I'd rather go for reload RM30 and buy umi30. 2.5GB per month (plus minus). Although once doing that, why not save a small amount and go U28 before end of August, 3GB per month, more SMS, more calls.

If really die die wanna spend less, then stay on the old prepaid plan and use UMI20. Much less high speed internet but your call/SMS not deactivated 1/3rd of the time, and still got unlimited low speed (good enough for whatsapp).

Your way works well if really no need to call/SMS plus want to always have high speed internet available plus really kiam siap =)

QUOTE(gogo2 @ Jul 31 2015, 01:33 PM)
Huge different bro:-

Power Prepaid + UMI30
Voice = 10cents per minute
Data = 2.5GB
Free voice all network = 30 minutes
Free voice to uMobile = 450 minutes
No billshock
Total = RM30

Power Prepaid only
Voice = 10cents per minute
Data = 1GB
Free voice all network = 300minutes (from RM30 credit)
Free voice to uMobile = 450 minutes
No billshock
Total = RM30

U28 Postpaid
Voice = 20cents per minute  doh.gif
Data = 3GB
Free voice = 50minutes
Free voice to uMobile = 0 minutes  doh.gif
Billshock is possible
Cannot carry forward free minutes  doh.gif
Total = RM30

Conclusion
U28 is a con plan after Power Prepaid is out.
*
All that analysis and you ignore SMS? And you put U28 as RM30? rclxub.gif

For my intended usage (some calls and SMS, not a lot), U28 means I ONLY spend RM28+GST every month. That's it. Power Prepaid means I would spend RM30 every 30 days (not month). So it costs me at least 6% more than U28, indefinitely! For less data, more U to U minutes (as I said, I don't call alot), and don't even start talking about SMS....

how to change to this power plan...i am exsisting umobile prepaid for 3 years....
btw wanna ask...which plan i should use...here is my summary

very seldom call and sms...use internet dailly for waze and surfing currentlly use below 500mb a month...can recormand pls ty
*
If your usage that low, stay on the old Umobile prepaid plan with 2x validity and just use Umi20. Comes out to 20 ringgit spending every 30 days.

QUOTE(wcypierre @ Aug 1 2015, 03:03 PM)
28 * 1.06 = 29.68 which is somewhat pretty near to 30 if you round it up  laugh.gif  I wouldn't say that U28 is a con plan, because what U28 as a postpaid plans provides you more but at the expense of flexibility, while power prepaid provides you the flexibility to adapt depending on your needs to make more savings at the expense of what you get(less data/calls/sms).

If you need 3gb monthly then U28 la  laugh.gif , but what if you need 2gb monthly only? or usually 1.5gb sometimes peak at 2gb for certain months(balik kampung or whatsoever?) Power Prepaid + UMI20 + the leftover 10 ringgit for sms could offer more savings for you than U28 (if you kuat sms then confirm U28 win la  laugh.gif , but if you don't typically the combination that I've mentioned will bring more savings).

It all lies on your usage.
*
Prepaid reload RM30 costs RM30*1.06 also, so what's the difference? Unless really no more cost on GST starting Oct, but I don't think so...

You really do not get any savings from Power Prepaid compared to U28, no matter what! You may get more of certain things, but you will not save anything.

U28 = RM28 each month (which can be 30 or 31 days, or even 28 days).

Power prepaid = RM30 every 30 days.

In one year, your U28 is 28x12 = RM336, no matter what year.

In one year, power prepaid averages out to RM365. Every four years will be RM366.

Of course, if you start playing games such as using power prepaid for 30 days and then buying UMI on the last day, then you may save. But then the benefits you get are much less than U28 (and you don't get to call/SMS for some time before reloading again). If you want full connectivity all the time, U28 will always be cheapest. Whether its the most suitable depends on usage pattern of course. In particular, if you call a lot and hardly SMS, it will be more worth it as U28 is hard limit 50 minutes call per month, while Power Prepaid you can choose to have less data and much more call value.
