If Mytown opens year end of 2016 and it is successful, this will benefit the sales of one cochrane.
Launching one cochrane at 2016 year end is a strategic move.

Mine is just scenario assessment on what they will do by leveraging Mytown as best advantage.

Velo, launched their highrise first, "selling" an impression that Velomall (under Sunwai management), will succeed like Pyramid. So they may underestimate Boustead.

Boustead in contrast, "launched" Mytown first and use Mytown to attract buyers on their highrise.

Mytown is still in leading so far. Velo a bit quiet on their action. I avoid putting my verdict despite my preference on Mytown. Also, cannot underestimate Sunwai on their strike back.

Once Mytown and Velo officially open business to battle, the result will be known. Cheras people win by having multiple choices of malls to visit.

sunwai is really quiet recently of their action for velomall.. strange though there is still NO news for their potential tenants that will open at there.. Are they secretly planning for a strike back (like u said) for some unique concept since they have lost majority of famous tenants to mytown? hmm.gif hmm.gif

I was in Ikea Cheras couple days ago and it is quieter compared to Ikea Dsara even though its a weekday.

How is the weekend crowd? Better or worse than D'sara?

How do you measure the crowd? Based on availability of parking? Based on time taken when lining up at the cashier? Based on how fast you can get a seat at the restaurant?

So far I've gone to both Ikeas, the latest was Ikea Damansara last Sunday evening. I'd say the parking available were abundant, restaurant not too packed, time taken to pay not too long compared to my previous visit to Ikea Cheras on Chinese New Year.

General observation comparing with D'sara. There's no line at cashier and see a lot of yawning bored workers. It was never like this in D'sara branch last time. Perhaps the crowd have been split between Cheras and D'sara but that would mean Ikea has already peaked.
