For the power window as what i heard from my SA savvy power window is one of the best that they produced among all proton cars.
He says that the power window is hard to get outside in the market and it will be expensive.
*
Hmmm....almost any power window is better than a Wira, Saga....even Gen2 and Waja have lots of power window complaints as well.

My old 2nd hand Nissan 130Y...power window never fail 10 years plus. Old Kia Sephia...7 years+, power windows tip top and never failed.....

Hopefully, Savvy's pw is okay. And Nel, i won't bother to install power window at the back ler. Hardly ever used at the back. 2 less power windows means 2 less potential problems...LOL.

Called my SA in the afternoon also....never bother to pick up my call...he see my number dun wanna answer liao i think. vmad.gif

Ha, sorry for my Day Dreaming as i am so admire about all the european car that have sunroof installed some car even have full visual~ ok la~ STOP my sunroof dreaming. i am looking forward Proton can produce some advance car and bit down all the imported car !! i am not dreaming now.

Ok, so no one going to install the useless rear power window ?? ok then i guess i will stay back and see first.  thanks !
*
Friend...sub 40k car...where got sunroof. Got non water leaking roof also lucky already.

As for the immobilizer....errr...alarm is immobilizer?? I believe usually people refer to the transponder in your key which without will immobilize the car.

There's no such function in Savvy i think, maybe only H-Line.

Oh yaya, i also want to know the old savvy, as what i know old savvy is O-Line ~ means 1 line only la.  So older Savvy like 05' dont have things like ABS or airbag right ?? 25K is it a good bargain ?? as it is not p2p deal it is b2p deal may also consider they will give me minor repairing.
*
25k is good price. There's no ABS/Airbag in STD version either, only the HL series has.

btw, i saw Eneos selling sunroof...RM799 or RM1799...can't remember. But who wants to turn their car into a kereta potong?? No thanks.

Huh, you hand over agreement? Isn't that suppose to be done by bank agent? If you just hand over the loan agreement, i think your car won't make it next week...I've signed all the agreements on 3rd August and made downpayment early last week.

Hope u get yours soon. All this waiting is getting on my nerves.

I thnk Peyno should be ban from this forum. Or anywhere else for that matter.

He is an annoying bug.

Dont forget ur ah beng/boxy acc in LY has been banned as a reminder of how strict is LY forums is compared to other forums. Ur image is notorious even in the face of Chips Yap, paul tan and many more auto fanatics in mysia.

U been warned. ppppprrrffftttt my @ss......

offtopic ends:

In the other note, i saw a savvy lite in Proton showrooms and i have to say is proton going backwards again? The 12 inch wheel is ridiculous though and reminds me of that basic viva 660-880cc, which has such small wheels. I felt the normal M line savvy is much a worthy buy. wink.gif

Hey travis, if you want to start a petition to get rid of Peyno, count me in.

WQK xxxx. smile.gif

Just have my first drive just now from Mutiara.

Ist stop at Shell petrol station.....unfortunately can't open petrol cover! (very embarrasing..)...quickly called SA and asked him should i turn left or right to open cover...he said anti-clockwise and even offered to drive over to help me...i said no need, i try first. So it turned it anti-clockwise...managed to open it but it's quite hard to turn ler...Is it normal??? My wife will definitely going to hate this...

Ok, then continue with driving home. So far so good, i've hit 100km/h max (i try not to go over 90km/h as the Myvi burn-in period recommendation is 90km/h).

Oh yeah...what is this complaining by some Savvy owner engine loud ar? Ok mah...where got loud...at 100km/h, it's maybe only slightly louder than my Myvi and not "roaring" as some Savvy drivers said...maybe they used to drive Camry??? tongue.gif If you want to hear a roar, try driving a Viva 850...even at 2nd and 3rd gear, low speed sounds like lion already.

btw, unfortunately, my new Savvy does not have sound proof material under the front hood... vmad.gif , but on the bright side, since it's not really that loud to begin with and i can further reduce the noise later with some padding. smile.gif

When i reached home, i checked the manual and found that the recommended max speed for burn in period is actually 110km/h for the Savvy... thumbup.gif ...also has recommended gear and speed but who the heck can remember that....so i'll just stay within 110km/h before 1st service. smile.gif

btw, it comes with an immobilizer alarm in the key(has a chip inside). thumbup.gif

Well, in terms of driving experience, i'm sure glad i didn't buy a VIVA. Now i just hope it's more reliable than a SAGA. Gulp. sweat.gif

Just hit 105km with my Savvy....but 2 bars of petrol gone liao??? Is it because the engine still haven't break in yet? I didn't rev the engine, just drive normally.

How's the fc for new Savvy....is this normal?

Also, sometimes i hear "tak" "tak" sound coming from somewhere....normal or not?? sweat.gif

The fuel bar drop is not linear, due to the design of the fuel tank and the use of float-kind of sensor..first bar will last at least 30km only, but I think your second bar drop is too soon, try to squeeze more petrol in your car, after the nozzle auto stop for the first time, wait for a minute a two and start to fill in again. You need to check your FC by refuelling fuel tank again for the next refuel.

Is is TAK mettalic from the aircon? It's normal sound for the radiator fan or air compressor kicks in.
*
Yes, you're right. the first bar gone after 3xkm!! The 2nd bar starts dissappearing and reappearing this morning at 105km.

Maybe i try to off the aircond and monitor the "tak" sound. Thanks for the tip. thumbup.gif

I went up all the way to genting's peak when my my mileage was 3000km plus ( had to drain oil outside at 5k km)..with max load 5 people and luggage...power lagi hehe.

Before my 20k k service - went up to gunung brinchang at Cameron Highlands.

No prob till now already 40k km plus - now on Amsoil synthetic oil.

Results - pickup is better than others, that's what they said.

I won't do 100% engine braking - I prefer to sacrifice the much cheaper brake pads.
*
Err...what is "engine braking"???

Come on, put a Savvy journal here. Tell us your feel about the Savvy manual.

I'm still eager to have AMT Savvy. I don't know why.
*
What car u drive now?? I support you buy Savvy...go go!!!

So far:

Cons:
(1) No auto lock of car when shutting engine and pressing the brake padel cannot auto lock either.
(2) The lock is just a small cyclinder sticking up and down...this is very old style....
(3) Everything left becomes right and right becomes left...RPM meter, signal lights etc.
(4) The meter lights...yellow, bright red at night wah-lau...i can't even read the meter...

Pros:
(1) Less bumpy than my Myvi! thumbup.gif
(2) Nice ride and handling!!(especially turning corners).
(3) Feels like driving a big car like my old KIA sephia again!!
(4) I didn't try to unlock the wrong car!! (I actually try to go into the wrong Myvi a few times before...too many on the road...so embarrassed...quickly cabut..)

But yesteday...i kena cucuk from a 4WD...Nissan i think...tailgate me at SPRINT highway...and then another AhBeng driving Myvi (with Penang plates) try to cucuk me also......WTH...you want go faster you go ler!!! I should put a sticker saying "My other car is a MYVI!!!"...LOL.

*
In terms of driving experience ok ler...for 37k...what else can buy? VIVA? No thanks. Persona is attractive at 45k but i don't think it'll be FC efficient compared to a Savvy.....I'm just paranoid about FC after so many years driving a Kia....LOL.

But the real test will be the quality and whether it'll be mostly problem free. This i think can only be determined after 2 years down the road. We'll see.
(btw, i top up for RM280 for an extra 3 years warranty just in case.)

btw, SA gave me this CoolWorld tint voucher....never heard of it before. Any good ah?

congrats to new owners.

My 'O' line Savvy is about 52,000 km now (2005 Nov). Journey daily about 100km, cost me around RM7 per day. No problem with the car, normal service no problem to report, just need a little alignment (potholes!).

At the moment is calculating the timing belt change cost at 60K. The PESC quote RM850, but I read in Savoc you can do it less then RM500.
*
RM850!! So expensive meh? Are they trying to con u? Hypermount, any ideas? I thought there's a price list somewhere in Savoc that shows about RM4xx??

I mean any outside mechanics can do the timing belt change with proper torque at cheaper cost. My authorized EON sc branch here charge RM100 for the labour. Yes any spare part shops are selling the kits - you can get the Dayco from this guy.

http://www.savoc.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2699
Around 120-130km/h is the sweetest spot for savvy. going 160km/h still stable for this little car.

About the sound insulation padding - even putting dynamats on it doesn't really make a difference. maybe just want to decrease the temperature to preserve the bonnet paint finish. Old lines comes with padding on the bonnet and firewall. Padding on the firewall maybe works a bit to reduce the engine noise. But some old lines didn't have them also. 100% sure all new facelifted savvys have this paddings but Matrix said his car doesn't have any.
*
Yep, no padding on bonnet, haven't check firewall yet. Hey! Benjamin! What about yours? Any padding on bonnet? If you do, please take a picture and I'm going to complain to the SA!

btw, my FC seems quite bad...left 2 bars at about 270km!! shocking.gif I'm still not sure how much the last 2 bar can go though. Maybe it's still new....but somehow i suspect the Shell Petrol at SPRINT highway....i remember my MYVI also seems having less mileage a month ago when i pumped a few times there which after i changed to Caltex and now BHP. I'm switching to BHP once this tank of Shell runs out.

Also, there seems to be jerking at 2nd gear below 20km/h...is this normal??

Refuel full tank after the light comes out, so we'll know how much petrol is being consumed. One of the low point of Savvy is the inaccuracy of the digital fuel gauge interface.

Did you experience 2nd gear jerking all the time?
*
Only today and when the km/h below 20km/h. If i'm below 20km/h, i'll have to rev it up a bit more to make it reach 20km/h and there'll not be jerks. rclxub.gif I think this is when i was stuck in a jam and the speed is < 20km/h and i switched to gear 2.

And yeah, the fuel gauge is nuts. Sometimes it can climb back up the bar. Never happened such thing with my Myvi.

And just checked, there's paddings in the firewall.

Cos Proton is using a float sensor. If the level of petrol inside the tank shifts a bit, it will affect the sensor. Doesn't mean it's a bad design, just different.

I remember when I first got my Savvy, I need to use gear 1 to go thru bump unlike other cars where 2nd gear is already sufficient. Could be the gear ratio.

If you're having jerking intermittently, before you start the engine where your ignition key is in the ON position, you have to wait for all the warning lights like the check engine indicator to go off first..then start the engine. Air con, radio need to turn off first also before starting the engine.

Dirty throttle body, TDC/Speed sensor are the reasonn for hard to start and jerking problems.
*
But this is new car, surely not TB dirty! Yeah, i think it's gear ratio, so far haven't stuck in major jam until today. Do you still use 1st gear when going over bumps? I need to go down to first gear also when going over speed bump.

I'll continue to monitor on the fc and jerk thingy and post feedback here.

Yes I'm still using gear 1 to go over bumps.

Did you check your tyres when you droveoff from the showroom..some new car tyres were grossly underinflated..make it 10-20 kpa more than the recommended pressure.
*
Already pumped my tyres 2nd day with the car. Today i'm driving Myvi, noticed below 20km/h, is still okay with Gear 2. I will test drive somemore the Savvy tomorrow.

What's the pressure u usually put for ur tyres?

I think the specs say 210kpa for front, rear i can't remember...200kpa?

Just tested my Savvy just now. Drove for about 1 hour plus, stuck in a jam around Bukit Bintang, but suprisingly, no jerking...everything normal!!!!

I notice even below 20km/h(around 10km/h) also no jerking unlike yesterday. Can also go over bump using Gear 2....

This is weird....rclxub.gif

For me i just got mine which is black colour. It gets dirty really fast and easy, if you are a car lover you will probally wipe it  brows.gif  & the reason why i choose black it because my SA can get me black colour within a week where other diffrent types of colour require you to wait for few weeks untill the date of delivery. Its all your choice  biggrin.gif  almost all the colour offred by Savvy gets dirty very fast. rclxm9.gif

@matrix
Hmm i think im having the same problem like yours where the fuel consumption doesnt seems to be that fuel saving  wink.gif  the SA pumped full tank for me and currently its at 258KM(Trip A) and running at 2 bars of fuel. Wondering why  shakehead.gif
*
Means you run 258km and left 2 bars or only used 2 bars?...yah, so far, isn't very impressed with the FC....but maybe it's still too early to judge...gotta wait until after 1000km and 1st service, then more accurate. The first tank was like 12.xx km/l for the Savvy....this is same like my Myvi before 1st service....I was hoping the savvy could hit 15km/l...if not gonna complain to SC already.....

Do you have the "nyeet nyeet" sound when pressing the clutch? I tried spraying WD-40, unfortunately, i can't see the underneath without breaking my back (i'm quite big size and not very good at going underneath cars and squeezing into small places)....i took a shot underneath the pedals with my digicam and rougly tembak the WD-40 everywhere...but didn't seems to hit the spring thingy (i think that's where i'm suppose to lubricate...now my Savvy smells like WD-40....).

btw, just tinted my car with CoolWorld tint..cost RM450 after discount.
