QUOTE(Azuma-kun @ Sep 15 2007, 11:35 PM) Already stated the problems lor...no need repeat and repeat. Basically ok except for the sound thingy which dunno come from where...but it's not a major problem. The rear right door still hard to close even after SA fix it....and i'm still not happy with the petrol cover which is very hard to open even after they lubricate it (WD-40 again???...I think they just wallop and lubricate everything), but better than before.Do you guys have hard to open petrol cover?? It really sucks such a simple thing can't do properly...maybe need to change the cap altogether?? Oh yeah...the fuel meter is weird...very hard to read.....1st bar can last 4km....last 2 bar will blink immediately and left 1 bar very soon...usually pump full tank only 25litres!! So far latest fc is 14.xx km/l (i hope i calculate right), which is a bit better than my Myvi at 13.xx km/l (100% city driving). |

I'm sure he'll be able to explain everything in detail. What other cars ur friend considering?? Just psyche him to buy a Savvy and stay away from Viva... btw, share another story. Called up Proton-i-don't-really-care again to complain about SC advisor telling me grandma story that Using semi-synth oil will void warranty for my Savvy...it turns out the I-care girl on the line also drives a savvy and she says she uses semi-synth oil! Ha-ha! Anyway, she say she contact the SC centre to clarify and call me back....let's see whether they're doing anything this time.... This post has been edited by Matrix: Sep 16 2007, 06:29 AM |

Nah...they insist on using mineral oil when i want semi-synth. Anyway, no harm trying Mach 5. But i'll go semi-synth next 10k service (or just go change to mach 5 again outside workshop at 5K if engine feels heavy by then). Please advice what to use for my 1st service i dont know which one is the best for savvy. |

You think people owe it to you meh.... i'm thinking of getting the savvy lite next month.. i know its very bare for the $$ basically with nothing except 4 wheels with an engine and dashboard... i'm deciding to install the fog lamp and power windows which according to the sale person it fetched around $550?? i'm looking for a small decent new car to fit my budget around $450 a month... i just wan to know the FC of this car! serious review on this... is $200 enuf to last for lets say 800km?? my current nissan cefiro is around 23 cents a km... how does the savvy compare?? it seems like everyone is giving different fc statistics! so which one is the accurate ones? i dont the proton website is accurate as to 5.3l/100km? i'm choosing the Auto version.. so yeh gimme some real answers! 2) How can there be same statistic FC number for different drivers on different road conditions?? QUOTE(evoHahn @ Sep 17 2007, 10:40 AM) Just read a horrible accident involving a Savvy this morning (Utusan paper). The car was damaged badly... probably was going too fast. 1 dead, 3 minor injuries. The dead and injured are driver/passenger in the Savvy?lesson : drive carefully on the road... That's why drive carefully....don't think that just becoz it's tougher than a Waja u can drive like mad cow... Speaking of accident, i saw a Myvi on Saturday i think, in front of Phileo Allied Damansara (near the Sprint Damansara toll plaza in inner lane). The Myvi pointed sideway (front faced the wall, 90 degree turned), front quite kemek, but windshield intact with minor crack. No serious injuries i guess, as cockpit looks fully intact. I think 2 other cars involved also. This morning another Myvi...wah-lau, behind me, want to turn into the left lane and bang by a Wira. I heard a sound and thought i was hit... |

Most Myvi auto owner seems to be getting only 11 to 12km/l.Do you use a lot of highway cruising? Mine is basically 100% city driving (SPRINT and LITRAK don't count as highway coz always jam!!! QUOTE(Azuma-kun @ Oct 4 2007, 02:22 PM) You should take photo! LOL.Yeah..for another 3K STD, you get Alloy rims, alarm, power windows, spoiler and other minor stuff...no wonder most people will rather pay a little more. I think the biggest cosmetic problem with Savvy Lite is the Steel Rim, the no paint handle, and it comes in either black or white only. Proton should have at least give people some plastic to cap their steel rim ler!!! Still, exteriorly, i think it looks better than VIVA 660....looks like a dog's black mouth and arse....so kedekut and don't even wanna give some paint!!! |

QUOTE(jVIPERs2 @ Oct 4 2007, 03:08 PM) Actually, the rear wiper is quite useless, because Savvy rear window, like Myvi is already very steep, gravity will take care of the water most of the time. Just remember to apply Rain-X wil do.Added on October 5, 2007, 12:45 pm QUOTE(Azuma-kun @ Oct 4 2007, 03:02 PM) Yeah me also black. But i think if see from behind we can tell it's a Lite. All new version of savvy have spoiler. Lite dont have. Yep, if no spoiler and new face lift, most likely a Savvy Lite. QUOTE(caviars @ Oct 5 2007, 02:20 PM) That is because they want it to be really cheap. However it is not selling really well (based on my observation only). Maybe people who bought Savvy prefer to spend extra to get the additional accessories. Exactly...i chose the STD over the Lite when i bought mine for the same reason...furthermore, if u install ur own stuff, Savvy is not a common car...afraid those outside shops screw up some wiring etc etc and cause some problem here and there then no warranty....if it's common car like Wira/Saga/Kancil/Myvi then ok ler....coz everyone is familiar with it.....but this car better play it safe... |

Wanna ask, is the battery for the new Savvy MF Battery?? I tried to check battery water level but cannot even see anything to open on the top. Can't find any wordings to indicate it is MF Battery either.
Any ideas? Benjamin, how about yours? |

QUOTE(lunacy @ Oct 25 2007, 11:05 AM) how many years of warranty given by proton to savvy ? any savvy driver can update on their savvy warranty ? Savvy 2 years warranty. Pay extra RM2xx for another 3 years warranty. So 2+3= 5 years. Added on October 25, 2007, 4:08 pm QUOTE(lunacy @ Oct 25 2007, 12:54 AM) Few problems i heard from others for savvy Friend...dun buy Viva..serious...if u wanna buy P2, buy Myvi 1.3. Viva drives like a motorbike with 4 wheels due to it's 3 cylinder engine. This is an inherent 3-cyclinder engine characteristic. 1. Clutch is hard 2. Sterring hard also. 3. Power took of slow due to drive by wire for accelerate pedal. 4. Engine hard to start even is new one Above is true ? Any savvy driver can give comment on this ? 1. Cluth is hard....i think some older models are harder. The new FL are not so hard. I've tested the old model before and they're harder than the new FL model. Anyway, once u get use to it, no problem. 2. Steering is not hard...try VIVA 850/660...THAT IS HARD!!! It is different from typical electrical power steering...it uses hydraulic steering....furthermore, with the handling ability of the Savvy, fitting a loose steering like VIVA will be a mismatch. You'll feel a lot of control. 3. You press harder than faster lor...ha-ha..(eat more petrol!). Anyway it has pros and cons. The engine doesn't die so easily even if u change gear at low speed...and i believe the final torque will be better due to the bigger engine size (compared to VIVA). 4. Huh? Got such thing meh? No such thing ler!! btw, i suggest u buy Standard Savvy..only 37K+...Savvy lite apa pun tadak...unless u dun mind manual window and prefer to install ur own alarms, alloy rims, etc.... but remember, u might have warranty problem later if the 3rd party dun install properly and causes problem (Proton can blame 3rd party if problem arise). Added on October 30, 2007, 11:38 am savvy is getting famous for being robust, i think not much problem being highlighted so far. i'm not sure about the latest pricing of r3 bodykit, http://www.rthreeparts.com/priceWebSept06.pdf AFAIK, savvy's pcd is completely different compared to waja, wira, gen2, and neo. so no luck in exchanging rims with your other proton cars Added on October 30, 2007, 11:40 am i think he's pulling my leg best price Rm38.5k wat a joke Added on October 30, 2007, 2:21 pm QUOTE(jVIPERs2 @ Oct 28 2007, 01:23 AM) Here, fishy-fishy, here....Good fishy!!! But the price also the best. then shell v-power should be better right? warm up 2-3 mins is not necessary, but just dont rev highly before the engine warms up. its because the engine lubricants still cold, not good enough to protect the engine. Added on November 2, 2007, 11:35 am AMT or MT? how much u bought it? So far, i'm ok with BHP and Caltex. Added on November 5, 2007, 1:47 pm QUOTE(gary_cheah85 @ Nov 4 2007, 12:29 PM) seems like everyone here prefer BHP, so far from what i've read from savoc.net BHP petrol contains the most additive(booster) which suits our savvy the most. I believe Proton also got sell the Renault D3F oil. Just go to a bigger SC and check it out.Anyone know which is the nearest BHP station in PJ? BTW i started to realize the AMT gear transition is not very smooth, a bit jerky from gear 1 and 2 probably due to usage of cap ayam AMT fluid by proton.
