anyone has any idea if they will do this cut cost strategy to neo anytime soon?

if they do...it suck big time...neo should stay where it is now..no changes ( except for the awaiting launch of the misterious neo gti.....)

oh yea if u buy the lite version and want to add a power window into the car can rite? How much does a power winder system in savvy cost anyway?

someone at pualtan.org complained about the missing of essential parts like alarm and mobilizer... i think starting from today, white savvys are the main target by auto thefts...

untrue... savvy lite without alarm doesnt means cant install after market alarm... perhaps it is a good news as well since all the savvy have different alarm system which may create problem for thief...

if the savvy come with stock alarm but owner cant remove it, otherwise warranty may void... so if the thief can steal a stock savvy, which means they can steal most of the savvy bcos all having same stock alarm...

the strategy same like Naza/Kia, most of the new cars come without alarm... only the expensive car come with stock GPS...

how much does it cost to fit a very good alarm maybe with GPS?

hmm, Rm36,549 for AMT. soo tempting.. but 11k units only? oh man, this is like 'sapa cepat dia dapat'..

- Available only in White (solid) or Black (metallic), white will only be available from September 2007.
- Only 2 front speakers (no rear speakers) <<< can be easily upgraded
- 14inch steel rims (will have hub caps) <<< can be easily replaced & upgraded
- No power window <<< can be easily upgraded
- No rear head rest <<< don't have major functions anyway
- No front fog lamp <<< used occasionally, can easily upgraded
- No luggage lamp <<< a lot of after markets..
- No rear wiper <<< used occasionally, but very useful in heavy rains
- No reverse sensor <<< rely much especially during parking
- No hood insulator <<< you can hear your engine a lot
- No alarm or immobilizer <<< ermm.. can upgrade
- No rear spoiler <<< mine also don't have


IMHO,

this car is for those who only wants a car that can bring you from A to B, sacrificing the common functions in new cars (especially the power windows)

this car is exactly for entry level buyers, i can say targeting new buyers.. ie fresh grads or for college use

this car is also suitable for modders, as less replace, new signing..

keen on seeing white one.. i assume it will surely smart if heavily modified

I think it's a fine car.

It requires only two things: Power windows on driver's side, and engine immobilizer.

Immobilizer saves money by reducing insurance premiums. It saves money on the long run to offset the initial purchase price increase.

Power windows are a necessity for paying toll. Passenger power windows are not necessary as in Malaysia, (interior) fogging is not that big an issue and most people use aircond anyway cuz it's so hot.

If Proton could include said two items above for say... RM1000 (in a factory upgrade package for example). It would improve sales imo.

they may open the door directly..

still see many people do this even their cars is with auto power window...

For Proton, that's one of the best feature.

btw its 1.2l with 4 cylinders shudnt be too loud if compared with other 3 cylinders
i wonder if those accessories missing will cost more than rm5k?
