Hi, here to share my friend experience, sometime the problem is not technical problem, so if the technician just test drive or plug in the computer to test the car is can't is find any problem.
Maybe Engine before install to car got Accident Collision or Accident drop, the technician can't see any crash or broken and just install the engine to car.
The problem is inside the engine already crack, and outside is like normal, now car shop already compensation a new car to my friend, but don't know kia will do like same, or just change the new engine ?

I also suspect the same. I've inspected the engine and even jacked it up on my own to see...but still can't find anything.

I'd subscribe to your theory as well considering the fact the transmission also had problems. My guess is when the engine and transmission was mated...it didn't go too smoothly. Pretty sucky that this ended up being a consumer problem.

I am pushing them to replace both the engine and transmission. We shall see how I suppose.

Wow suddenly so many problem occur to Cerato. Im interested to buy one soon, but after reading all the issues and dissatisfaction from you guys really scares me a bit. Guys, should i proceed with cerato or better buy other car?

Going to drive away my 1.6 next week, hope everything is fine = = By the way to all Cerato Taigo, what should i inspect before drive away? can share share? thanks

The car is a good car, and buying car, sometimes it's down to luck. But when it boils down to that, it depends heavily on the vendor's ability to support the car.

I believe Naza Kia still has a lot to improve in terms of quality, QC and the after sales support. They seem to be able to sort out only basic problems, whilst more complicated problems, they are left in the dark.

Perhaps it's because this model is too new and needs more time to maturize.

agreed with you...it's all about how unlucky you are if u got a defect car...
i believed a lot of satisfied owners out there not voice out their satisfaction here...

Just finish install Zest Rear Kit, feel so good,but take out the Old Rear Kit have some super glue can't clean, don't know last time why the guy using super glue, so sad, have anybody can help me ?

Hi, everything is fine, important just enjoy, but don't magnify speaker sound if can just off the radio, listen have any sound is not the car must have, and also reference perror message, also can change the water to pure mineral water to prevent rusting, and on time maintenance.

I own the car more than 9 months now... I remember when i was buying this car time there were many others who bought who were actively posting in this forum... but no news after that... guess no news is good news since normally ppl come to forum to post bout problems and seek for some solution/experience for the same problems...

I can testify that my car so far so good, #touch wood#, only got rattling sound on the steering (which other solved changing the lockspring)... and one of my Nexxen tyres had bulging when it was less than 2 months old... but wouldnt be of concern for new buyer since its MC5 tyres now...

Kinda agreed with you. Ppl shout when theres problem, but rarely saying anything if everything is just fine.
My colleague bought the new cerato last month. He said everything is OK, good value for money. Just that the suspension bit soft, and his door got dent. Suspect other car open door hard in parking side by side.

I know an expert who can fix the dents on car doors without having to plaster and re-spray. If your friend need such a service, feel free to PM me for the contact.

I just sent my proud new Cerato 1.6 for 1st service at KIA SC today. After the service, I noticed the pick up respond is better now. The idling RPM now is 1100. I did not notice what it was before the service. I reset the L/100 km meter, noticed it went up pretty fast from 8.4 while driving to 10.3 when idling at traffic light. Is this normal ?

Hi, problem is same like yours, this problem already complain with KIA services center, until now they still not have any idea, after asking other car shop, now just have this for KIA Cerato, first fill full tank fuel, reset the L/100KM, to drive to long straight way, if can please choice the less traffic light way, drive to 7-8L/100KM, and keep the 7-8L/100KM around 15 min, after next drive will just have 8-9L/100KM, now my is 8.3L/100KM stable in this month.
