CBU is fully imported and you will see PUSPAKOM logo at your windows (R&R of all imported cars require to go through PUSPAKOM checking before on the road), while CKD is local assemble. The latest Cerato will have 3 minor changes which are:

1.) Multimedia Din -  from 4.3 inch to 7 inch (i think 8 inch need additional top up? Correct me if i'm wrong) equip with GPS.

2.) K3 logo at the back of the car (while you can always get this stick from any car accessories shops)

3.) Tyre changed to Continental
Most significantly, CBU signal indicator control is on driver's right side, while CKD will have it on the left side.

This all i can tell so far, anything wrong about it, please correct.

My understanding is only the very first batch of cerato is having the signal stalk on the right. I'm not sure are those limited unit CBU or SKD but I did realized that most of the cerato are having the signal stalk on the left even for SKD unit..

For the HU, all CKD are 8" with GPS ready.

Just one thing is incorrect, the signal indicator DOES NOT differentiate the SKD (CBU) from the CKD stock. Only the first batch of cars, if I am not mistaken of around RM200 units had the signal indicators on the RIGHT. The subsequent SKD(CBU) units all came with signal indicators on the LEFT or commonly known as EURO spec.

If your smart key is somewhat left inside the trunk, either by mistake or if it fell inside, when you close the trunk, the trunk will remain "unlocked". All you have to do, is to manually press the button on the trunk to open the lid.

In the Forte, the trunk lid used to bounce up when the key is inside, but for the Cerato, it doesn't bounce up, but only remain unlocked. Please try it out. Of course, don't do that with BOTH KEYS, as a precaution.....  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

I see, so does it means all the Proton cars are following Euro spec? As i notice their signal are all at left hand side too.

So what makes differences from Euro Specs and First Batch that the signal is on the Right.. Just to have the feel of Euro Specs rite? Nothing other special specs or others rite?

I also am curious, if you mentioned first 200, there is some people who gotten the car before me, the signal is on the left, i only collect my car 2 weeks later and my signal is on the right..

I am just merely asking, i am not saying you are correct or wrong. smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

Yes, the only difference is the signal indicator, nothing else. So, don't worry, you didn't miss out on anything.

Personally I feel that the right hand signal indicator is more convenient if you are RIGHT Handed and vice versa. Imagine if you are driving with one hand, your Right hand, and your left hand is holding your mobile phone (yes, I know it's illegal and one should be using the bluetooth wireless speaker instead wink.gif ), it's easier to flick the signal indicator on the right with your right hand, than to do it on the left, agree ?

I got some who collected car before me, signal on the left, i collect car, signal on the right, the test card i drove i remember is right signal. I got some friends collect the car after me some left and some also right... smile.gif smile.gif

The only reason I can think of as to why you got your RIGHT Hand Signal Indicator unit later than others who got their LEFT Hand Signal indicator earlier than you is because it was during a transition period, where both variant were available in the market depending on colors and stocks and outlets you bought it from.

KIA Malaysia did not wait for the LEFT hand signal indicator (euro spec) to be fully cleared before they release the RIGHT hand ones. So, at the time when you bought your unit, your sales outlet was probably still "clearing" the Right hand indicator variant whereas other outlets could have cleared theirs and were already selling the Left hand indicator variant.

I don't know exactly what was the reason that KIA Malaysia had brought in 2 variants. Maybe KIA in Korea did not have sufficient stock at that point in time and offered these RH indicator to Malaysia, to meet the launching date and demand.

The interior storage space is 1 of the best in this segment. Large glove box, arm rest area, sunglasses box, centre cockpit storage box is huge with a cover to cover up and all the 4 doors has storage area as well.. u can go to showroom to compare, see it to believe it.

rclxms.gif My wife loan approved already. Actually want to save up and take 2.0 if can, but time wont allow. Why so may advertisement at Mudah.com there
putting big discount with weird package option. really mess up our loan application.

I just want to ask what is the difference between authorised dealer and real KIA malaysia branch?
Does Kia Malaysia branch offer better discount? And where the heck is Kia malaysia, there at PC federal highway ka?
I bring my wife buy there at serdang kia. They explain to me that the mudah there with super huge discount really2 funny one.
take out Kia original GPS and DVD and place with cheapo one. Instead of full bodykit give rear spoiler only. No free services 3 years also can.

I satisfied already with Kia serdang so much dont bother to find other place. For a RM801.12 monthly 10 years installment cant complain much haha.
*
10 years settlement? I thought car loan the longest possible is 9 years only. Mind to tell which bank and the interest rate? And how much discount u managed to get from Kia serdang?
