QUOTE(johnie8888 @ Jun 17 2013, 11:48 PM) The Note series is made for productivity and business use, thus the S-pen and larger size.If you can handle the larger size, and don't want to wait, then get a Note 2. If you think anything more than 5" is too big, get an S4. If you can wait, then wait for a Note 3, which is expected to be 6". Do read post 4 under Reviews and Testimonies for what a lot of people from ALL OVER THE WORLD have shared from their use of the Note 2. And this post on XDA just a couple of days ago: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2325983 |

i really hope Note 3 will be under 6" , its really to large to handle if that big. I would most likely to skip and jump to another phone except it comes with even better battery life than current note 2.

New home, woohoo!
I am downloading the new stock ROM. Slow download though. Should I wipe my cache and dalvik cache after or before I root? This is something that has been bugging me for a long while now. |

Those of you who love the Note 2 will have no issues with the bigger 6 inch Note3. You will get use to it within a day. Having used the bigger 5.9 Vega, 6.1 Mate n 6.3 Mega I would say Note 2 size 5.5 seems small already
Nowadays you see Sony, HTC n several China n Korean makers jumping into the 5.3 to 6.4 display sizes to capture a slice of this increasing market It is like what Steve Job had said, something along these lines " create something for the user who does not really know what they want" n having used it they just cannot accept anything else When Samsung released the 5.3 Note many expect it to fail. History had proven this wrong My first 5incher Dell Streak was a failure mainly due to its bad lag n mediocre performance. The Note easily dispose it off |

QUOTE(EdwinCodec @ Jun 17 2013, 09:22 PM) The new update you all talking about is 4.2.2? I can't find it. Mind to share the link. Or is it through OTA? |

QUOTE(joytest @ Jun 17 2013, 11:30 AM) Actually we are at the plateau sort of phase like laptops/notebooks were 3-5years ago. Anything else you want to add is largely incremental. joytest was right on... QUOTE Samsung slammed with downgrades as Galaxy S4 ‘marketing charm’ fades http://bgr.com/2013/06/17/samsung-galaxy-s4-sales-estimate/ The issue is that the market for high-end smartphones such as the Galaxy S4 and the iPhone 5 seems to have for now hit a plateau while the action has moved more toward low or mid-tier devices that are affordable for consumers in emerging markets. QUOTE(hooh888 @ Jun 17 2013, 05:50 PM) "I am not sure why people still use screen protectors on today's high end devices especially phones like the Galaxy Note II with the enhanced toughened glass it has." the rest of what he said i'm not too sure. i mean a screen protector won't make the phone look as ugly as he said. no matter how tough the current glass is... it's still prone to scratches. and i'm one of those that is kinda fussy abt even minor scratches on the glass. it happened to wife's s3. all she did was put inside the purse/ handbag. when the scratches showed... she said "i thought you said jard to get scratched... so how now?". i didn't expect the sracthes to appear in just 1-2 days... i was in the process of getting the SP.the same should apply when one puts the phone in one's pocket. QUOTE(joytest @ Jun 17 2013, 06:20 PM) i find Google Now to be very useful. too bad i can't replace the double press home button with Google now. the menu button may not work while we're in some apps. and if you're one of those wondering how many type of Samsung Galaxy (android-based) models are out there... from http://bgr.com/2013/06/17/samsung-galaxy-devices-chart/ ![]() This post has been edited by mydragoon: Jun 18 2013, 08:41 AM |

QUOTE(gin&tonic @ Jun 18 2013, 08:31 AM) All of us thought N2 & S3 will get 4.2.2 when S4 release. Looks like Samsung pull a fast one & I'm wondering if sony releases the zu 6.44 in 2 weeks' time will samsung wait till oct? There is likely credible competition this year. The xz was released 1 mth befire s4 and htc1 at the same time as s4. Despite production issues htc1 is influencing buyers and so is the xz. I don't know what samsung thinks but I believe they shd be prepared with the note3.may release only after N3 launch in Sept/Oct. |
