A better way is to sacrifice the useless optical drive and retain the 1TB HDD. smile.gif

Get a normal 2.5" SSD with larger capacity and swap it with HDD. Get the 9.5mm compatible caddy bay for HDD and swap it with ODD. use the ODD as external drive with USB to SATA cable.

Here the pics and installation details in Chinese website for Y510p/Y410p:

Hey guys, I went down to the store today and have taken a look at the Y510p, but the salesman told me that SLI model not yet released. Is this true?
Also, rumors of poor customer service, technical problems and false advertising got me worried. What I heard is that some people did not get the same processor as advertised. Whats up with this anyways?

Hi sifus
Not trying to be spoonfed, but I'm looking for Windows 8 ISO to reformat, and amazingly it is hard to get one.
I just got my Y500 single GPU, and as it has Windows 8 OEM, I dont know where can I get a Windows 8 ISO so that I can install Windows 8 on my new msata SSD.
Can anyone point me to the right link on how to install Windows 8 on SSD please?
Thanks!

On a different note, do I have to remove the battery when plugged in? I think newer laptop will prevent the battery from overcharged, but just want to confirm.
