O.oSounds so.. horny.... LOL That aside, how are you enjoying the build/design of it? I find their build really nice, especially the design of their inside, the keyboard part and how it lights up. |

Apologies if this is out of topic/scope, but would I really see a tangible major difference in performance between the Y400(i5) & Z400(i7)?
Mainly using for Video, photo editing (LR4, PS CS6) and also some gaming (I play skyrim on lowest settings on my old laptop) and will not be my focus, mainly games like MMOs, and maybe XCOM, or games like that, I do not need highest anything as I'm on budget and am realistic with expectations. QUOTE(ytlay @ Jul 28 2013, 10:28 PM) Y510p with Haswell core i7 & Nvidia optimus enable for longer battery life/lower temperature and probably higher clock GT755m(GDDR5) compare to Y500. screen probably the same. Devour did mention that ? Can you link me to the post ? Why not u wait for Y510p as it might come out earlier according to Devour. |

Y400 local set don't spec with i5. Thanks The new XCOM do benefit from the better GT750M in Y400. i7 in Z400 is pushing the thermal profile to rather uncomfortable territory Y400, i7-3630QM + Nvidia GT750M@RM2799, 4GB, 500GB, W8, 120wPSU, swappable ODD, 2 years warranty Y410p, i7-4700MQ + GT750M(GDDR5)@RM2899, 8GB, 1TB, W8, red backlit, 120w psu, swappable ODD, 2 years warranty Z400 touch, i7-3630QM + Nvidia GT740M + (1366x768, touch)@RM2799, 4GB, 1TB, W8; 2 years warranty Looking at the RSP, go with the Y410p, if it is within your budget. |

Ideally I would like to get the y410p though its slightly outta my budget reach for now. And not too sure I can wait too long as I'm still using my circa 2008 HP DV4 which feels like its on its last legs. The new XCOM do benefit from the better GT750M in Y400. i7 in Z400 is pushing the thermal profile to rather uncomfortable territory Y400, i7-3630QM + Nvidia GT750M@RM2799, 4GB, 500GB, W8, 120wPSU, swappable ODD, 2 years warranty Y410p, i7-4700MQ + GT750M(GDDR5)@RM2899, 8GB, 1TB, W8, red backlit, 120w psu, swappable ODD, 2 years warranty Z400 touch, i7-3630QM + Nvidia GT740M + (1366x768, touch)@RM2799, 4GB, 1TB, W8; 2 years warranty Looking at the RSP, go with the Y410p, if it is within your budget. But I strongly suggest you hang on for may be 1 to 2 more months for Haswell refresh |

QUOTE(Areas Elysian @ Jul 29 2013, 08:55 AM) Tomb Rider? O.o I find that the weight is kinda heavy but since its a gaming laptop, i took HEAVY into consideration and out of the question. The build is quite good. Solid looking. The keyboard backlit led can be set to 2 contrast by pressing FN+spacebar key. Tried Tomb Rider benchmark. Run on ultra settings. Lowest FPS 14, Average was 21 FPS highest is around 28 FPS. For me its playable. Other than that, mine is the 768p Sounds so.. horny.... LOL That aside, how are you enjoying the build/design of it? I find their build really nice, especially the design of their inside, the keyboard part and how it lights up. Conclusion: Pros: Backlit Keyborad Good JBL speakers Haswell i7 with 6MB Cache Decent GT750M which is faster than the GTX660M Cons: Not the IPS screen Malaysia dosent have the 1600X900p model No SSD's Handrest needs to be cleaned once in a while after playing because the oil from our palm tends to stick there Side exhaust vents instead of rear vents Touchpad abit funny |

LOL.. Secondly, don't force it to run at a higher res, just leave it on 1366x768. The LCD can only display 1366x768, if you force it to run at a higher res, it's just processing extra pixels only to be down sampled back to 1366x768, using more power/battery life. SSD you can just buy one in the future anyway, no biggie. Yeah.. most 14" has the exhaust on the side.. no space for ones at the back generally. |

Ultra settings. All ultra with its highest resolution 1366x768 gets lowest FPS of 49, Average 55 FPS and highest 62. Currently for crysis 3 , i dont expect much but here goes... Ultra settings. Not playable. high settings, average was 28FPS, lowest was 18FPS highest was 38FPS. Bioshock i dont have. No money to buy game. Unless someone can send me a torrent link for it. I will personally install and review it here. |
