plextor msata can read/write at 500mb/s, but the performance on y400 only get read speeds around 270 mb/s. And write speeds are around 180 mb/s.
Does this means msata doesnt perform to its best?
and y410p's m.2 Sata will have a much higher speed? will it worth the wait?

Dude, You're confusing wattage (W) & voltage (V).
A higher wattage adapter, i.e. a 170W adapter can supply more power than a 120W adapter. & yes, better to get a 170W if your are getting an SLI.
I believe that the voltages on both adapters are the same. & yes, if you were to use an adapter with a higher voltage, you'd probably blow most of the components on the motherboard.

that is a very low score bro.. like almost half.. i think something wrong with your SSD settings.
in SSD thread there is some optimization guide.. check it out..
my plextor m5m 256gb seq read 500++mb/s, seq write 400++mb/s..

Hi Bro, actually, using the 170W adapter is better than using the 120W adapter as long as the voltages are the same.
It just means than if your laptop power load is allowed to go upto 170W which could be the case if you are running the SLI GPUs (GT750M).
If you have a 120W adapter & your laptop is using more than that, some of the systems on the laptop may not have enough power to run.
If you have a 170W adapter & your laptop is using less, the adapter would actually run cooler as it doesn't have to supply that much power.
Only drawback I can think of for not getting the 170W adapter is the size & weight as it's heavier & bigger.

http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaPad-Y-U-V-...UK/td-p/1134467

Another thing, I believe the 170W adapter's jack is a little tighter compared to the 120W adapter.

So basically, if you are running SLI, get the 170W adapter as the 120W adapter may not be powerful enough.

Hope this helps. smile.gif

don't buy the 170w adapter unless ur laptop has extra-GPU...

ONLY USE THAT ADAPTER IF U PLUGGED IN EXTRA GPU AT UR ULTRABAY SLOT

if in ur ultrabay slot u placed dvd-rw, hdd, or removable fan, use the 120w adapter... it's enough...

THIS IS BS,

you can use normal 120w adapter for SLI but the performance will be affected a bit only THERE WILL BE NO HARM OR DAMAGE

for full performance use 170W

both can also use. no prob at all.

Wow, guess I'm very wrong then.. Sorry sweat.gif doh.gif

But still, the thing about using 170w adapter even if ur laptop is not on SLI is that u consume lots of energy, means more expensive electric bill.. but as gamers, i'm sure u all are okay with that wink.gif

So, will 170W adaptor give a boost in performance when on single 750m?
