I finally snagged some of the latest Y510P stocks, and true to form, couldn't resist opening up one unit for myself.

Getting the new 755M units is a bonus, and I do see that the LCD panel unit has a higher brightness than the last version did. It does translate to a better viewing experience straight away.

Yup theres already a model of Y510p with touchscreen laptop but not in Malaysian market.

i dont think there is any y400 in the market now...it is ald replaced by y410p. i tried to look for one during nov but cant get any...maybe u can look for any display unit in computer shop if u don want go for y410p/y510p.

erm guys, for y510p local set, can extend to 3 years warranty?

should be able to..RM165 for 3 years on site warranty

Just got the Y410p, loving it so far!

A few things that sent up a few red-flags though.. The wallpaper of the laptop, when I first turned it on was a Lenovo wallpaper that I've seen on the display models at shops... Also, the theme applied to the laptop is also Lenovo's theme, and saved under "my themes" rather than "default themes" (refer to screenshots).

My question is... Is this an indication that I was sold a used/display model of the laptop? :s The laptop's box was sealed, and on start-up, I had to configure some of the Windows 8 settings... So I guess that all points to the fact that it is brand new? But I'm confused.

So if any of you remember, did your laptop come with the Lenovo theme/wallpaper built in?

Please help me to confirm this. I was told by a Lenovo reseller that the latest y510p with gt755m only comes with glossy screen (without anti glare) is it true??
