Hey, guys! Thinking of getting the Y410p. I was initially turned off by the WiFi issues... But many attributed this to the Intel N-2230 WiFi card, and I just found out that a models available in Malaysia actually use a Qualcomm WiFi card rather than the horrible Intel one. So those of you with the Qualcomm card, are you having any trouble with the WiFi?
tl;dr, does the Qualcomm card fix the WiFi issues?

The rest is the same, afaik. applicable to local(non-ap) set. This post has been edited by ErgoProxi: Dec 23 2013, 12:20 PM

QUOTE(mwei0210 @ Dec 23 2013, 03:58 PM) How to keep y510p's temperature low? It can get up to around 35-36'C even when it is idle according to notebookcheck. Apart from the ventilation that could be used, what can we adjust? Underclocking? My y500 usually idling on 46-51'C when on hot day (33-36'C). i use stand fan to cool my laptop, just point it towards the side of the laptop. And yeah i lower the maximum power settings to 90% on plug & battery. So that the laptop doesnt always run on turbo boost.

I read on some forums that the Y410p/Y510p have this battery drain issue... Like the battery drains by 1-2% per hour even when the computer is shutdown! And that is with the "always-on" USB port turned off. Has anyone experienced this issue? :s QUOTE(ErgoProxi @ Dec 23 2013, 05:10 AM) y400. the difference/s between y400 & y410p is/are CPU, RAM and HDD size only/and GPU. Hi, The question is rather inappropriate here, all the files and folders in my Y500 have turned to read only so I am unable to install any new games. Is there a easy way to fix than reinstalling the whole windows and there by losing all my games? Any help will be appreciated
