if you want a much more portable , no need for num pad, and even a save some budget, go for y410. but remember, the res is only 1366x768, not 1440x900
if you willing to carry a 15.6", need the num pad, and have a bigger budget go for y510

Y510p with extra numpad, bigger 15.6" full HD screen run cooler, good for full HD movie and photo editing. Add in the optional ultrabay gpu will turbo boost the gaming performance.

Y410p is smaller and lighter for mobility.

Any Y-series user here reaching 95c+ during gaming.......worries me.

Mine GT650M SLI highest temp less than 80c. Most of the time playing on medium settings, like Splinter Cell Blacklist.
How to disable turbo boost?

is it? really is for y510p? anyone can confirm this? wish to get one

Updated BIOS and vBios.

Currently running Windows 8.1 and Nvidia R331 ( latest driver )

SLI enabled successful. Will test with Arkham Origins soon.

Wow , such low temp , can try furmark/MSI kombuster to see your temps ? Thx.

If I play any high intensive game such as BF3 any games in general @1080p, Temps ranges from 88-98c..

BF3 all low @1080p ..Temperature...97c 0.0....

L4D2 all high @1080p...Temps..88c

However playing with lower reso, like my native 1388x768...temperatures will never go below 87c.

I've underclock my GPU to 950 and CPU to 2.10Ghz, The temperature reduced but not much , to 93c peak

To disable turbo boost , just go to power management set maximum processor state to anything but 100%

Downloading furmark. I dont know wats wrong with my CPU cuz it never goes over 2.4Ghz even i set high performance .
The temp is from previous Windows 8, now 8.1 mess up the SLI. Using older driver will freeze and crash games

The ultrabay GPU not running. What setting needed?

Maybe because urs are higher clock then generate more heat
Furmark now 79c after 10min

UPDATE : SLI works on Arkham Origins.

im testing the new vbios and bios update.

u have to wait for the official update for bios v2.04 and vbios y500 y510p from lenovo. will be coming in a few days time.
