Hey if local set Malaysian Y410P is 2 years warranty right ? cuz I registered and it shows only 1 year on website...or it memang 1 year.

It's state ''Malaysia'' in the lenovo warranty check.

One more question , is it normal for my unit to have a short high pitched sound juz before shutdown ? ( sometimes can last to 2 seconds ) usually happened during the fan spinning at max just before shutdown.

Hmm , anyone have a comment, 1st laptop..so kinda new haha.. During intense gaming nth happened juz only when shutting down. goes away when fully shut down.

Fan seams ok...no high pitch sound when doing the dust extraction.

guess could be a sound made by something when shutting down ? like HDD ?

Maybe I'm worrying too much haha.....so far that sound did not appear anytime else beside shutdown and not affecting anything

Something interesting I found out about my buzzing sound.

Whenever I shut down my Y410p with the backlit keyboard brightness at medium ( off medium high). Other setting seams quiet

A short buzzing sound will appear from the top left part of the laptop around 3 second before the laptop completely shut down. ( Changing between backlight brightness will remove the sound completely and return as soon it turn back to medium).

The sound does not appear any time else.

Any gurus here might tell me if this is normal or something else ?

I just found out what is causing my laptop to have a high pitch tone when shutting down.

I uninstalled the realtek drivers and start using windows 8 default drivers. To my surprise , the issue gone completely but the down side is the microphone does not work well and spdif light always on.

The high pitch tone giving me headache sometimes and changing the keyboard brightness before shutting down sound unpractical to me.

Can Y410p onwer try this ?

Shutting down and booting up when the backlit keyboard at medium brightness. See if u guys will hear a high pitch tone.


Might need to get closer to the screen to hear it. ( I work at a super quiet environmet , so can hear it from normal position )

Nothing severe but sometimes I work late and was tire, the short 3 second high pitch sound when shutting down does get in my nerve

Wondering will Lenovo will entertain me If I sent to their service center . Thanks

What's your temps ?

it does not auto restart all the time...

when i play longer at that temp, artifacts and black lines flicker =(

Any Y-series user here reaching 95c+ during gaming.......worries me.

If I play any high intensive game such as BF3 any games in general @1080p, Temps ranges from 88-98c..

BF3 all low @1080p ..Temperature...97c 0.0....

L4D2 all high @1080p...Temps..88c

However playing with lower reso, like my native 1388x768...temperatures will never go below 87c.

I've underclock my GPU to 950 and CPU to 2.10Ghz, The temperature reduced but not much , to 93c peak

To disable turbo boost , just go to power management set maximum processor state to anything but 100%
