Cant agree more that Liverpool is signing more and more unknown, from aspas to alberto....a sense of dejavu, really, like how houlier vs wenger in competition to sign unknown in hope of unearthing a gem...but we all know how it ends - the likes of cheyrou, salif diao and his mate...biscan, diomede, then rafa with mark gonzalez, kromkamp, josemi....even kuyt, which flopped as a striker, but work his way on the flank..and the most recent - Henderson, and even carrol....I don't include suarez, as he is already up and coming with the Uruguay squad during WC. A big club such as Liverpool, we shouldn't be obsess with the signing of unknown players, as they are unproven, not the sort of ambition you would expect from a club breaking into top 4 let alone challenging for title. Of course one would argue that these are the ones that are hungry and offer a scant of unpredictability in their play, but how I longed for us to compete for young stars the likes of Paulinho...gotze...isco...varane, granted most of them are in range of 20million - but it is damn frustrating that instead of getting Juan mata, we got ourself a downing...why 35 million on a carrol instead of llorente or negredo or both of them....

8m is a bad bad bad bad bad deal for a player whose only prior experience is one season in Serie D and last season in Serie B.

inb4 we paid 7m for a player from barca b and 7m for a player who is 25 played 1 season experienced in spanish top flight... when we have money we dont need to make a gamble
