For me bf4 is a bit of disappointment. There's still have a lot of improvement need to implement, but i like the swimming and ladder climbing part. Hopefully the bugs it will all fix when the premium is out.

Maybe you should also bring a can of compressed air and a brush for the purpose of cleanin up the fans/vents.

I know i need to bring screwdriver, thermal paste, maybe 3rd antenna... wat else need to bring?

Proud owner of G55vw here. Need some advice from fellow owners.

I had been using the laptop for almost 16 months now and everything is good until recently. My original 1tb hard disk (now as secondary drive) is having problem. It easily goes up to 100%  everytime under some average duty task. (like winrar). Most importantli it come out with some clicking sound.

So I think it is  dying. My question is

1. Can I claim warranty under such situation? The hdd still function but quiet obvious it can be dead anytime soon.
2. Asus warranty is two years. However, if I wanted to claim warranty, can I go to the hdd manufacturer, instead ASUS ? I don't want to lose my laptop for couple of months.

anyone here using SSD here? what SSD brand is best compatible to asus laptop?

Then I should get a SSD planted in my laptop. Currently, Scandisk and Plextor brand is considered.

If I were to run a virtual image (100GB of size), is it recommended to copy the virtual image into the ssd drive or the normal hdd? I only think of installing the OS and VirtualBox in my SSD drive. If I were to put the image, i'm afraid it is not enough space.

use a wet cloth and carefully wipe the keyboard when the laptop is turned off? afaik, it's not hard to clean it up.
i think you have issues with your headphone (well.. apparently). i have steelseries siberia 1 and 2, and 7h. all are still working fine.

tested stock 3d streoscopic no problem...just donno how to activate the IR Emitter

IMHO is the GPU side more sensitive, that's y it have problem booting up. If apply too less cant see the effect... Very hard la

But if u ask me, i would say performance wise coollaboratory took better advantage than the IC diamond. I tried both on desktop already...

So for the G750, is the price really worth the performance?

And I have never actually tried to put something of that weight in my backpack and walk around. Wonder if it is that heavy.

Also heard that new models will be out in Malaysia this mid/end of October. I sure hope that's the cheaper version of G750.

2) my g55vw was initially win7 until i digital download win8 earlier this year . if I factory reset , will it move back to win7 or the earliest version of win8 ?

I am using the G750 JH model. Indeed it is very heavy together with the charger but the performance you get is pretty much quite worth it to me.

I bought in AU for $2999 Aud.

I don't know if I'm not using the currency converter right but isn't that close to RM 10k?

Referring to how heavy it is, have you carried it to class or something?

There is no special add on and no laptop bags or anything extra given. Just the standard package JH non 3d version model. I intend to get MSI initially but when in the end still go for Asus due to the design. I love the matt on the cover and the aluminum near the keyboard.
FYI, in AU this JH specs is more cheaper than Allienware and the storage on the standard specs is good enuff for me.

Yeah the design really got me hooked. I kinda hope there's a cheaper version of that model. spending Rm5.2k - rm5.5k on a single laptop is kinda too much.

Still learning the ropes for Windows 8, but the laptop is a BEAST to say the least !

Not the biggest fan of the bundled mouse tho, there are 2 additional keys at the thumbrest area, always accidentally press it during usage of mouse. !

So far, these are my very early thoughts on the machine,

It's absolutely frigging amazing, runs very cool, barely audible fans, but if you are in a quiet room playing in mute (which really, will never happen) then you are able to hear it. If you have so much as your airconditioning on, then you won't be able to hear it.

Although it is a dual fan set-up, the fan on the left side spins faster and more frequently. (left side when you are facing the monitor) . I have read on another forum that this is the fan for the GPU.

There are some minor hissing sounds if you plug in your headphones, (or the bundled Siberia headphones) but the ROG forums are saying using the maxxaudio should sort it out.

There are so far really no major negative points to be given at all, it is an absolute delight to use. and I like that it has quite an understated design, nothing too flashy (this is a subjective opinion).

But if I am really trying to pick a nit here, I would say the webcam is quite mediocre. I found that it is only 0.9 Megapixels. Very minor if it is almost hardly used like in my senario, but you know, ugh, you never know when HD webcam is needed. Ugh. Right.

AHUHEUHEA, so far so good from this G750 owner.

hey guys ever since i upgraded to Win 8.1 my disk tray (disk tray is it?) keep making its mechanical sound (similar to when u boot the computer) like every hour .

know why it does that ? just curious . i didn't do anything .

yeah more or less . but even when i let my laptop on while im studying its still making that sound

I think I am facing the same issue as you, I had upgrade to win 8.1 and upgrade the GPU drivers. Feel the whole pc had some lag when switching program.
