i vote or recommended 8 inch android.

i`m currently using Asus Memopad 8

its been 2 weeks usage, never fail to use it daily.

mostly using it play Candy crunch and injustice.

beside, most of the time, i use it to download comic and read. and the size of 8 inch is perfect on hand, same size as u holding ur comic book.

as well as the books u going to read, its same size. not much needed to zoom in or out.

although the processor is not the powerful one, but is more than enuf.
however the 1gb of ram and the 8gb internal memory i got is not the best choice, sometimes they might be some 1-2 second hiccup, but still bearable. the 8gb internal will end up left 4.xx gb to be use.
but external MicroSD is a plus to support up to 64GB.

i got my weekly Running Man on which 1080p, running on MX Player with software decode running no problem. even RMVB & MKV running smoothly.

last but not least, the IPS panel is the best on this tablet.

thanks for the fast reply mate!

just want to clear thing up, memopad 8 is better than HD7? As in their specs are kind of similar to each other just the screen size ain't. I think 1GB of RAM is suffice since I'm not gonna use it for heavy stuff though. How much u got it? HD7 is less than RM500, quite good biggrin.gif

Hello guys, could u help me out a little bit?
I'm kinda new with tablets and I'd like to know which one is a good bargain.
Here's the deal, I like to entertain myself with music videos,constant browsing on social media. Streaming platform such as Youtube. A device that could edit Microsoft's Office would be great too, I don't mind the camera quality since I don't snap around too much. The cheaper the better. Thanks in advance!
Here a list of few tablets that I have in mind :

2)Vido N80RK - Price rm450~500

* RK3188 Cortex A9 28nm Quad Core Up to 1.6GHz
* 8" G+G IPS 1024x768px 5 point touch Capacitive Screen
* Mali 400 MP4 533Mhz
* 2GB RAM / 16GB Nand Flash
* Dual Camera 0.3MP+2.0MP
* HDMI/WIFI/OTG/External 3G Dongle
* Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, Can update to Android 4.2
*Supports external 3g dongle

3)Microsoft RT Surface -Price RM800~900

OS          Microsoft Windows 8 RT, upgradable to Windows 8.1 RT
Chipset  Nvidia Tegra 3 T30
CPU  Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A9
GPU  ULP GeForce
Card slot  microSD, up to 64 GB
Internal  32/64 GB storage, 2 GB RAM
Type  TFT capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors
Size    1366 x 768 pixels, 10.6 inches (~148 ppi pixel density)

I personally disagree to allow kids to face a screen for long hours as it give them myopia.

If you insist:

A second hand used of iPad 2/iPad mini (9.7"/7.9") (wide range of Kids Apps catalog in iOS)
if cant able to find it within your budget. Then stick back to Android OS, Asus Memopad HD 7 @ RM4XX only. I tested it out. quite good.

Used iPad 3rd Generation(aka "The new iPad" or "iPad 3") are using dual-core A5X processor compare to the iPad 4 which is using dual-core A6X processor. There are not much different between iPad 3 and iPad 4 other than both are already with Retina Display comparing to the iPad 2. Both are upgradable to iOS7 and with 1GB RAM, also with up to 10hours of battery life. The biggest thing about iPad 3 is that, Apple still using the old 30-pin connector on the iPad 3 but not the latest new 8-pin Lightning dock, which first unveiled during the iPhone 5.

Depend what capacity of the used iPad 3 that you are buying, and how much the seller offer to you.
New WiFi only Nexus 7(16GB) which is at RRP999, and WiFi+LTE Nexus 7(32GB) @ RRP1299. Why not get a new iPad mini with Retina Display(aka "iPad mini 2") 16GB WiFi only @ RRP1249 or a new iPad mini 16GB WiFi only RRP949.

TBH, in LYN Garage sales, able to find some good deal like iPad mini 16GB WiFi only used set at around RM700/RM800 some even include screen protector/case which saved yourself like RM100-200 for accessories, if you really want to try iOS. If not just go for Nexus 7 which is selling at quite low price for WiFi only 32GB model(imported set).

Ps. I bought one 4months old of iPad mini 1 @ RM800 with FREE SP and Case(save myself RM200+)

I believe most smartphones nowadays do support data sharing aka hotspot.

I know lots of people buying the WiFi only model of tablets to save money as they know they could tether straight from their phone without the need of multi SIM cards
