1. Brand. Any
2. Budget. RM500, but the lower the better
3. Specs. Mostly for reading. Wont do anything too taxing. the bigger the screen the better (some of my family members cant read small text)
4. What you need in the tablet. Mostly reading. Low end gaming. Dont intend to carry it around much.

What, in you guys' opinion, would make a nice ppi for reading?

imo 7 inch is too small, but no point getting a 10 inch tab with words/pics/movies that are too pixelated. a lil bit is ok

is 100 good enough? or at least 150+?

You can go try the MeMoPad 7HD, I have tested the demo unit, the display are quite crispy and clear, only the bad thing that you might don't like is the huge size of bezel. I think selling @ RM4XX

the HD7 does have a beautiful screen, but i'm not sure if 7 inch is suitable for reading. so aiming for higher sizes.

memo pad 8 is rm530++; and then there's this

http://www.lelong.com.my/playtab-9-4-andro...7-01-Sale-I.htm

looks really, really good

Not sure the quality as I never test the actual product in real life. But is as good as 7HD but with slightly low ppi.

How good is the Samsung's S-Pen? Currently using Nexus 10 with those cheap stylus bought from DAISO but doesn't feel natural let alone accurate. Wonder is it worth to switch to an 8" Samsung tab(can advice which model?) that comes with Stylus. Or is it better to keep the Nexus 10 and invest in a better stylus like the Adonit Jot Pro?

Because the Nexus 10 is not Pen Tile like those Galaxy Note series, and those cheapo stylus is not Wacom alike, need both hardware and software combination. If you really like to draw something, get something like those Note series. Go for newer model like Note 10.1 2014 edition or newer gen of Note.
