1. Brand. No specific choice, prefer something mainstream so that have lots of custom mod, roms, kernels etc. 2. Budget. Max RM700 be it new or good condition 2nd hand. 3. Specs. With data(3G or LTE), can perform the below functions without hang or lag. 4. What you need in the tablet. Teamviewer, iDisplay etc, websurfing, video watching, no emphasis on gaming.

seems that quite many people buying tablet with WiFi only access. Care to share how useful/sufficient is WiFi only compared to needing to spend extra for the 3G/LTE version? Or is there any regret getting the WiFi only version?

QUOTE(ericmaxman @ Nov 9 2013, 10:13 AM) Since I used my tablet mainly at home, the lack of 3G isnt too bad. besides, if I am outside with my tablet, I can still tether from my phone Ic, just worry about phone battery if tether too much. U using bluetooth tether instead?

Just wondering can a universal stylus pen work on any Android tablet? say mainstream hot items like N7, N10, Fonepad, Memopad etc.

Went to checkout the HD7 and hesitated to get it cuz felt 7inch still relatively small to me(especially if I plan to use it as productivity tool for work as well). Guess I should switch my attention to 10 inches. Maybe I should wait the Nexus 10 price to drop even further then get it This post has been edited by shirley_andy: Nov 15 2013, 02:02 AM

QUOTE(((Xa))0102 @ Jan 13 2014, 12:53 AM) I believe most smartphones nowadays do support data sharing aka hotspot. I know lots of people buying the WiFi only model of tablets to save money as they know they could tether straight from their phone without the need of multi SIM cards ya but tethering does lead to battery drain and heat if activated for long period. Unless u go for a big capacity battery phone(eg Lenovo P780) or carry around bulky powerbank.

QUOTE(sakamoto @ Mar 7 2014, 11:37 AM) meaning to say, those rm700 its nexus 16gb wifi, those rm1k++ its 32gb lte .... 32GB means more internal storage available. As for WiFi vs LTE version, LTE version u can put in sim card and have data plan, WiFi only version require to connect to WiFi to get internet connection and thus can't online if no WiFi cuz it don't support telco data plan.

QUOTE(hisyam192 @ Mar 10 2014, 09:05 PM) need recommendation~ budget 500 + 1k (cheaper better ) brand : not china brand screen : 7" -10" (preferably 7 or 8) os : jellybean (I'm not fond of rooting,etc..) must have : 3g, gps, decent camera usage : note taking, messaging,e-mailing,googling,reading,some gaming. (student's stuff) my search shows asus fonepad 7 (the single sim model) seems to be a nice tab.. but then, need some other suggestions~ thx in advance if u don't need the make calls using a tablet, then memopad hd 7 or 8 is a good budget choice, or even Nexus 7 1st Gen, otherwise 2nd Gen Nexus 7 if u have extra budget.
