Where you guys exchange money (to Rupiah)? At Bali airport or do it in Malaysia before arriving?

Do most place they take cash only or can they accept credit card (visa/mastercard/amex)?

Since Rupiah numbers are so huge... how the heck do you keep track of this mentally when you shop or buy stuff to make sure you're not getting rip off. tongue.gif

What kind of fee did CIMB charge you for withdrawing in Bali?
Are the rates comparable if you had exchange for rupiah locally?

So, the unused Rupiah - bring it back and change?

Looking at the size of Rupiah denomination: 100K wow... (yeah, I know it's only worth RM28). tongue.gif

There are a lot of official ones there. Some of the rates are even better. Can't really remember the names though but it is everywhere.

other bank also can be used for withdrawal purpose as long as it carried meps, cirrus logo at the back.
the rate is quite reasonable as far as i call recall.
rm10 per transaction for cimb.
if u intend to use your atm cards in bali, pls activate at least 3 different banks and bring 3 atm cards.
just in case. b'cos i found out some of my atm cards cannot be used in australia.

best way is to open a cimb account in Malaysia and then withdraw it from cimb in bali. best rates in my opinion. just need to activate your CIMB ATM card for overseas withdrawal. compared to changing from money changer here.

just remove 3 zeros from the rupiah and multiply the value of whatever you are buying by 3 and add a decimal you will get the rough value.
