However d next day both legs r sore especially my quads n lower hamstring due to d cramps frm the ride. Today is the third day since my last ride n both my legs stil feel sluggish n abit sore. My question is whether is it ok for me to do strength training today or do i need more recovery days? tq.. |

QUOTE(fevercrash @ Jul 29 2013, 09:46 AM) hi guys, you should increase your distance and intensity gradually and not in a huge leap forwards...feeling sore is good as this will mean your muscles will be adapting to the torture you will be dishing out in the future... the sores and pains will go away in time as you repeatedly do the same thing over and over again...i did a longer than usual weekend ride, my legs got cramped twice on the last 5km ride but i manage to finish the ride somehow. QUOTE(vin_ann @ Jul 29 2013, 09:47 AM) vin_ann is right... your muscles are in damage repair mode at this time and light work if you want is all your should be doing... else, recovery time is essential... as time goes by and the process is repeated.. muscles get rebuilt to be stronger and tougher...QUOTE(miaopurr @ Jul 29 2013, 10:01 AM) stretch which part first... must make it clear...lotsa muscles on the body... |

QUOTE(CoMMie @ Jul 29 2013, 10:08 AM) the one recommended by owen suppose to be a good aluminium frame , so i guess it is a lot better off then entry level carbon ?? Other cycling accessories: so if 7k below just for the bike, how much do i need to allocate for other cycling necessities? is 1k below enough? please advice thank you Helmet - can be cheap as low as RM300 until expensive (infinity) depending on your budget sunglasses - can be RM30 China mari or big branded bike meter - can be simple measuring speed as cheap as RM80? depends on brand to expensive big brand thousand clip shoe - depend your purpose of cycling. Are clip shoe a need now? Jersey - cheap to expensive. depends on your desire to match your bike color cycling pant - cheap to expensive small pump - cheap to expensive depend on brand n size of pump spare tube - standard selling from RM10 to RM16 depends where u get it. tyre lever - standard selling from RM10 (for 3) to RMxx depend where u get it. RM1,000.00 sort of "enough" if you on budget (exclude clip shoe) |

QUOTE(CoMMie @ Jul 29 2013, 10:08 AM) the one recommended by owen suppose to be a good aluminium frame , so i guess it is a lot better off then entry level carbon ?? it depends on what you want... so if 7k below just for the bike, how much do i need to allocate for other cycling necessities? is 1k below enough? please advice thank you the allez e5 is the best among aluminum frames can offer.. but is it worth it to get a bike that totals to that kind of money... for comparisons sake... the allez e5 is RM2.7k (i believe you can get at GH if you build the complete bike with them)... and a Swift Attack (carbon) is priced at under RM4k if i am not wrong...on whether the allez is better than the swift, i can't answer you... even if i do, it's just my speculation.. but i can tell you that the allez e5 will degrade over time as alloy's have fatigue life if you want to dwell into long term ownership of the bike... what complicates the situation is that, usually newbies would not get an expensive bike especially if they have not ridden in a long time in fear of crashing and trashing their bike... if you get a carbon one, there is always fear that you might cause damage to a carbon frame if you crash hard enough on the other hand, if you get an expensive aluminum bike, it's a bit painful to cause damage to it even though aluminum bikes is more resilient to crashes than carbon.. and to make matters worst, your first bike is usually the bike where you find your footing..so, there may be 1,009 question and doubts in your mind on what forms an ideal bike for you... so, the first bike is always kind of experimental for me and i'd prefer to keep it as low costs as possible with as much essentials that i would carry the idea onto the next bike... so, you weigh your options at the end of the day...
