Note 3 LTE ???? I hope new devices from H2 2013 onwards all have LTE included, then we don't need to make painful choices tongue.gif

Yes, it should be one of the mandatory features and not a choice. laugh.gif

Sadly even LTE has got so many variations. IIRC, Qualcomm was the one that had some all-in-one LTE modem catering for all bands. Or was it Samsung's Exynos??? Bad memory....

One question here on the wallpaper. Ive been download wallpaper specially made for samsung note 2 (1920 x 1080) but no matter how i try i will never get to set the 'whole' pic as my wallpaper. It will come out 3 box (2 small and one 'big' in the middle) and it will require me to crop the pic by using the big box. Is there anything i can do about it?

first of all, what launcher are you using? if you're using the stock touchwiz launcher, the wallpaper won't be scrollable or rotatable. if that's the case, the proper wallpaper size would be 720x1280. if you're using a launcher with scrolling wallpaper functionality, then i believe 1440x1280 is the ideal size.

Fat pipes and more slurping:

The coming data tsunami: mobile networks to carry 1,000 times more data 10 years from now
http://www.androidauthority.com/mobile-data-tsunami-216690/

The exponential growth of technology, first noticed by Intel's Gordon E. Moore and known commonly as Moore's law, looks like it also applies to the amount of data we create, store, archive and transmit. For mobile carriers and wireless infrastructure creators it is this last category – transmission – that is paramount. A recent panel held at CTIA 2013, a wireless communications trade show, heard from wireless experts including Peggy Johnson, EVP and President of Global Market Development at Qualcomm. During the talk Johnson estimated that within the next 10 years, mobile networks will carry 1,000 times more data than compared to what is used today.

Dubbed as the ‘data tsunami' it is clear that the wireless industry will need to look at new and interesting ways to transmit all that data. Johnson also estimates that there will be 25 billion connected devices in circulation in the next five years. That is a lot of devices and a lot of data.

Im using normal original touchwiz launcher. So means i have to get 720 x 1280 wallpaper to nicely fit to my phone right. Any recommended apps that allow me to download such sized wallpaper, cause the apps im using require me to slowly one by one look through the details to get the resolution.

i think they need to start researching how to convert physical objects in real life into network data.

well usually i just go to google images and search whatever i want and add a '720x1280' at my search query. for instance, 'star wars wallpaper 720x1280'.

I'm quite sure after Star Trek came in the 60's, some super secret US gov research agency (or Russian or Chinese or Japanese, even Malaysia etc) have been researching it ever since.

In other news, the next iPhone is rumored to have 2x the number of pixels from the current model. Typically, more is a good thing, but I don't know whether it's meaningful or not in this case. For the current, and upcoming crop of hardware, we already have 350ppi ++ where the eye cannot distinguish any dots at all.

If it's a 24"++ screen with 4096x2048, that's meaningful.

what i want is to be able to convert even myself or any human being into data, whereby i can pick what i want to remove from myself. for instance, if i don't want to feel any hunger, i only need to hit a simple 'Delete' button on the hunger partition of my system or something, as if i'm uninstalling some app/feature lol.

hmm.gif That means you can also install stuff you want .... I can imagine the possibilities .. whistling.gif

However it will be a complex data stream, with lots of error checking built in. SHA-409600 ?

About that next ipong screen resolution:

http://www.phonearena.com/news/The-iPhone-...r-bezel_id43431
...In fact, the source claims that it will be an entirely new panel, with double the pixel count of its predecessor, to 1.5 million pixels in total, which, of course, means that the resolution and pixel density of the display must be much higher. ...

==========
From one of the more sensible comments:

I was about to say the same thing. Before we all start drewling over 652 ppi, let's all check the math. When Apple moved to Retina displays, they went from

480 x 320 = 153600 pixels = 165 ppi
to
960 x 640 = 614400 pixels = 326 ppi

Now if they go from

1138 x 640 = 728320 pixels = 326 ppi
to
1600 x 900 = 1,440,000 pixels = 459 ppi

Which is comparable to the FHD displays on the One and GS4.

Rest assured checking through the settings is what I did in the first place. That setting in my phone wasn't ticked at all. Looked through the SMS settings as well. Unless I miss something, there's no obvious way to disable it from what I've seen.
It wastes battery for those who don't need it and the function isn't practical for most real-life situations. Let me give a personal example. With the phone in my pants, I hardly reached for the phone immediately every time I get a SMS. Even if I do, by the time my hands reach in my pocket, took out the phone, (open the flip for some of you), bring it up to eye level, , the screen would have turn off by then.

That's you. There are lots of people who leave their phones on the table when they are at work, at home and even in coffee shops. So, I am sorry for you that Samsung decided to have it that way.

This morning, I woke up and saw my Note 2 screen stuck at the boot screen showing Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7100. It will not load pass this screen for no reasons.

I have rooted the phone but it is still using stock ROM. All this was done more than 6 months ago so not sure why it died only today.

I tried to install Kies and do an emergency restore, it will not work.

I tried with Odin 3.07 to install the latest firmware for N7100 for Maxis downloaded from http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-N7100 (the first XME stands for Malaysia) for ROM on 27 March 2013.

I got an error message:
Can't open the serial(COM) port <-- this was fixed by installing the driver that came together with Kies

Then, I got this error:
Complete(Write) operation failed.<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
I tried to work around this by changing other USB ports but somehow, my phone just stop booting. Now, it will not even get to the boot screen ,everything is black, no download screen, nothing.

Did it bricked when nothing happen?
