Haha this has just become my new default browser. Wonder how they made it load so fast. Does it go through their own server like opera mini.  hmm.gif

Became my default browser also. No idea about the technical aspects. But it feels damn good to see the Loading bar blast through so fast. rclxms.gif

That sounds very impressive. I think though the correct spelling is "pwn"+tense. It's internet slang.

Eh, you're suffering from some kind of warping of the material it seems. Do you subject your phone to extremes of temperature?

I suppose you could try at the SC, although yours is probably the first such case.

Appreciate you could tell us how it went.

Anyway more Note 3 rumors:

http://www.sammobile.com/2013/05/28/rumour...-stabilization/

According to Korean newspaper ETnews Samsung is testing new camera sensors with OIS for Samsung’s upcoming flagship device the Galaxy Note III. The Galaxy Note III is expected at IFA 2013, SamMobile will be there! The Galaxy Note 3 is rumoured to have a 5.99” Super AMOLED Full HD display, quad-core processor, 13 megapixel camera, Android 4.2.2 / 4.3 and Samsung latest touch-wiz nature UX interface with SPEN functions. If Samsung will announce their first smartphone with OIS is still a question but it is quoted below.

“We are pondering various technologies at this stage – for example, OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and shutter functions. But, nothing has yet to be confirmed, so we cannot conclusively say that those functions will be added to the Galaxy Note 3.”

Coz it's assumed to have one already? tongue.gif

BTW this is interesting:

Upgradable phone. Geek wet dream. Worth getting if the specs are good enough.

LTE(900(지원예정)/1800), WCDMA(1900/2100), GSM(900/1800/1900)

Since only Maxis uses LTE on the 1800 MHz band currently, theoretically it'll work on Maxis's LTE network but not with Celcom as they use 2600 MHz as well as it won't work in areas where maxis only have 2600 MHz as well.

Another possible problem is the 3G frequency support WCDMA(1900/2100)
Going by wiki, all Malaysian carriers uses 2100 MHz UMTS, HSPA for 3G so it shouldn't be a problem but seems Celcom uses 900/2100 MHz UMTS, HSPA. Going by industry standards, I assume Celcom uses the 900 MHz outside of Metro areas for data where the lower frequency can cover a wider area mass with lesser amount of towers as well as having better ability to have lesser interference due to obstacles such as walls etc. so that's another possible problem.

This is all theoretically and you need somebody to test it themselves to be 100% sure.

Article about why some guy no longer cares about flashing custom ROMs

http://mobilesyrup.com/2013/05/27/i-think-...my-smartphones/

Some excerpts:
...Apple did everything it could to prevent users from loading unauthorized software, but once it was on the phone they made it even more difficult to reload the original. I’d often have to enter DFU mode to return to factory settings, and that process took many frustrating hours. Each time, after the anguish regret subsided, I promised myself that it would be the last time. When the Evasi0n jailbreak was released for iOS 6, I didn’t even look at it. Never again, I said.....

...See, back in the day, CyanogenMOD was just so much faster, cleaner and better than the various OEM skins released by Samsung, HTC and the like. Today, that’s not quite true. I like Sense 5.o; I tolerate TouchWIZ. I also understand that there are so many moving parts to these manufacturer builds, removing them for a vanilla Android experience also removes many of the extras they work so hard to implement. Without TouchWIZ there is no Air View, no S Health, no Air Gesture or S Pen support; removing Sense obviates Zoe, Zoe Share, BlinkFeed and more.

And while vanilla Android may appear smoother, OEMs optimize their GPU drivers, their WiFi and Bluetooth stacks, for the specific hardware. There’s a reason that the HTC One benchmarks lower on CM10.1, despite running Android 4.2.2, than it does on Sense 5.0, which runs Android 4.1.2......

....The returns on flashing or even rooting my phones have diminished in recent years. Being able to back up my app data to Titanium has remained the one sustained use case; I no longer care for altering the OS itself. Call me old fashioned, but I want to be able to receive OTA updates when they’re released, and I just want things to work.

Call me old fashioned, but the thrill of the chase — that perfect Android experience — through a custom ROM is just no longer there.

Agree? Disagree? Let me know in the comments.......

========================
Huge number of comments may be worth reading up.

Benchmark scores are just, scores. Just numbers.

Actual usability, to me is more critical than having >9000 points in Antutu. True, OEMs optimizes their software, but then, also comes in the bloatware. I recently installed Slim Bean build 5 for my friend's One X, and he's loving it a lot. Much smoother than the stock Sense UI, and even has touchwake brows.gif

Celcom will get 1800MHz too.
So far my area has both Maxis' 1800MHz and 2600MHz.
