Recently i saw many people are selling their Lenovo Y400 and Y500, and there is also many dealer selling their new unit.
Based on my research, Lenovo y400 and y500 is the most affordable Gaming laptop , hmmm any user here facing any problem on Y400 and Y500?

Popular laptops will always have a lot of orders, a lot of stocks and a lot of people selling it. Bar none, Y400 or Y500's spec is quite hard to beat, which is why people are looking for it.

A short trip to lowyat plaze this weekend saw a lot of traders and shops not having stocks especially on the RM2999 750M laptop, so you do know that it is selling, although a lot of traders are stuck with the old 650M stocks.

I just browse through the forum, someone is selling a US set y400, with the latest GT750m ,8gb ram + 1TB space for only RM 2350.
But do you know what is the y series limitation?

Why would you want a non-local (US) set?
Won't it be better to just pre-order a local set? Assuming you are staying in Malaysia, of course

Those specs are pretty good for the price, so try not to expect too much in terms of everything else

but the dealer guarantee that the warranty is international by lenovo. But i read the other threads, some user said that US set and Local set the warranty is different terms and conditions.
Hmmm any clue about that?

If you can wait, please wait for the Haswell architecture CPUs to arrive to laptops. Pretty important as they are more power efficient and has better performance

Should be here in a couple of months time

ETA is around June-July.

it is worth the wait if they want some power saving, but not a good deal if they plan to game only.

confirm can claim warranty here...u an go to any lenovo website...select y400/y500...malaysia listed now in country for international warranty claimable...2-3month back this model not update in their list...

by logic, Service center MIGHT accept warranties.

The unit you buy is not getting 1 year warranty at all. They refer to the date they release from Factory. So you kira the time taken for the unit to be delivered to US, then being grey import to Malaysia again. That might burn up at least 2.5~3 months for transportation. That means you spending 2K plus for a product which got less than 10 months warranty.

Talked to Lenovo service center at lowyat plaza level 4 before how they handle AP unit

They will accept the unit provided if user have local receipt. But once Lenovo find out the submitted unit is AP set, they will inform the user about the reject of RMA claim

haha ~ if those so call AP set / US set so good and cheap, why only those "hidden " seller ( i call them "hidden" cause they only appear with dupe acc ) / bangla seller only selling but not those legit seller ?

U, Y & Z series for Lenovo Malaysia set already bundle with 2 year warranty, if u want upgrade warranty to 3 year, u just need to contact legit seller to help u purchase to the Physical Pack or e pack

its same procedure...just buy warranty pack and register it at lenovo website...
even local set comes with 2 year warranty..actually just 1 year warranty standard and use 1year extended warranty...thats why u still need re-register ur item to get 2 year warranty? haha...
yes, warranty pack can buy from any lenovo outlet or service center lenovo or IBM...or can buy direct online...just need serial number and proof of purchase to register ur item..
dont make people confuse la devour...u last time also contact me to buy my item....hahaa
a few lenovo sales asistant also buy from me last time..legit or not...serial number is valid in lenovo website...

lastly, its up to buyer..if u want Original and Cheap, OR Original and Expensive...u have a choice! just do it what u think is right for u...

haha ,few ppl comment about your statement ,but u only dare to quote the simplest answer one, why not answer all above doubt ? i help you answer, cause you afraid your item could not claim warranty, so u twist here , twist that



local set allow user to eligible 2 year warranty without worry and add on another year ( if user wish )　so much cheaper price ur AP / US set ?


perhaps , u know how much will cost u upgrade warranty from one year to 3 year instead of 2 year to 3 year ?
u are seller but u not selling warranty pack ? instead ask buyer find warranty upgrade by own ? thats mean u not authorize seller la? or u just a runner ? opps, u dont have shop right ? where ur unit import in from who ? mind elaborate ?



from initial until now you never said if buyer of AP/ US set face warranty claim problem / buying carepack, u will stand up help, all u have done are ask buyer go here go there only...so , u are clever right ?

i tell u what, last time u like selling toshiba ap set, then toshiba malaysia kill it, after that u sell hp ap set ( if ppl like to know his story , can search forum tribunal) , but Hp malaysia also kill that, now u switch to lenovo, its time for time to kill u , just wait la

no need to gado2 here...u r senior seller..im also senior seller...u can ask my buyer izzit their unit can claim warranty or not? that sample u use above is not my buyer...i know what problem with that buyer but i dont have time to explain everything..coz he/she not my customer...me only treat my customer not other buyer...
some of my buyer already claim their warranty not even in Malaysia..even outside Malaysia...
luckily i delete some my old Pm...if not, i already put it here ur pm to me...
me also can sell local item if people want..and make a big competitor to u...Lai Lai...if u want local set just pm me how much devour give u, I will beat their price...? opsss...hahaha

Wow... I sense some flame over here. For my personal opinion, either ap or local set, at the end you will still getting the same product, just up to your personal preferences and the seller you dealing with.

I prefer local set because of the after sale service and the warranty provided. =D
