Popular laptops will always have a lot of orders, a lot of stocks and a lot of people selling it. Bar none, Y400 or Y500's spec is quite hard to beat, which is why people are looking for it.

A short trip to lowyat plaze this weekend saw a lot of traders and shops not having stocks especially on the RM2999 750M laptop, so you do know that it is selling, although a lot of traders are stuck with the old 650M stocks.

I just browse through the forum, someone is selling a US set y400, with the latest GT750m ,8gb ram + 1TB space for only RM 2350.
But do you know what is the y series limitation?

Why would you want a non-local (US) set? hmm.gif
Won't it be better to just pre-order a local set? Assuming you are staying in Malaysia, of course laugh.gif

Those specs are pretty good for the price, so try not to expect too much in terms of everything else hmm.gif

but the dealer guarantee that the warranty is international by lenovo. But i read the other threads, some user said that US set and Local set the warranty is different terms and conditions.
Hmmm any clue about that?

I guess there is still a unclear message regarding the warranty issue, but I can conclude that is safer to buy from a Lenovo authorize seller. Currently we don't know who is wrong or right unless Lenovo official give us a proper statement for this.
Anyway those who have claim warranty before from Lenovo , please share your experience here.

I just found out some info from Lenovo Website

http://support.lenovo.com/en_MY/detail.pag...ocID=MIGR-58926

ASEAN (Indonesia, Malaysia, Phillippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam)

Customers requiring International Warranty Service in any of the ASEAN countries may be asked to provide one of the following in order to obtain IWS warranty repair service; proof of company identification (company letter, email, business card, company badge with photo ID), proof of purchase (purchase receipt, official order, delivery note, sales memo, or invoice), and/or proof of travel (passport with valid Visa to or from country where product was purchased, or other travel documents).

I guess those who bought US set without any supporting document, i guess the international warranty will be void in Malaysia. Correct me if i am wrong. hmmmm

Yes, its Ori Set with US Receipt...but i cant give to my customer my invoice and show them my cost? izzit dealer sell local set here show their distributor invoice to buyer? u must get my point...
if buyer deal with me..so he/she will get my invoice...not my supplier invoice....u get my point? notworthy.gif
and actually u can check the warranty status in Lenovo Website...if that set is Ori...it will show u warranty status...u never buy Apple Product? how they handle the warranty? izzit different?notworthy.gif

hmmm but i just read the Term and Condition in Lenovo website saying that you need a supporting document even though it is under warranty.

1. You as a seller off course don't care about warranty but customer do

2. Since you refuse to answer my question,I would assume, 99.99% you are selling AP set.
If anything happened, Lenovo's laptop sold by you won't be covered by warranty at Malaysia service centre.

3. Am I correct?

Indeed, they way he wrote his statement. As a customer i felt insecure buying from him, I believe everyone wants to have a "good" after sales services too.

I think there is nothing to argue or clarify.

Ori set is ori set, AP is AP. AP set does offer us cheaper price, with the risk of zero warranty.

I think many knows whats AP (from handset). However, some AP handset at least they have their own third party/shop warranty. AP laptop however, seems like all seller wash their hand off once u paid, and ask you refer service center. If service center refuse ur warranty cuz ur AP set, then you're on your own.

The problem is... most AP laptop seller wont tell their customer or admit what they sell is AP set...

Hmmm, but seller admitted that they have the official invoice since they mention they bought it in oversea (US set). Unless seller agree to help you to warranty the unit on behalf.

what lenovo replied is quite simple:

The unit's receipt need to be from where is meant to be sold.
for example an US unit, with US issued receipt = LENOVO MALAYSIA WILL honor the service
What if:
US unit with Malaysian issued Receipt= AP unit/Grey import, LENOVO MALAYSIA WILL NOT honor service EVEN THOU warranty checkup by lenovo website showing it's still under coverage.

i just refer to the answer given by lenovo forum. I believe it's clear enough what's the answer already

hmmm, what i meant is the seller told us they bought in bulk quantity in US. I am sure the US dealer will provide them an official receipt since they told us they cant provide us the receipt due to their pricing factor. So as a customer if i buy from him, if i face any problem with my laptop i will sent back to the seller he will help me to warranty the unit since his having the official receipt. Is that possible?

According to Lenovo's website:

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/research/h...?DocID=HT074528

You need proof of purchase and proof of travel for their international warranty.

Yeah, i have said it earlier.
So for those who buying oversea set, please be careful. Actually the seller himself should indicate there might be a risk in warranty if not very misleading to those buyers.
