I've just got myself a biostar tforce 6100 s754 tis afternoon. anyone wanna share their overclocking experience with this motherboard ?

i was a dfi and epox user and now moving to biostar the setting looks kinda confusing to me. using similar setting on my epox doesn;t work with this motherboard at all. neither does using the setting on my dfi lanparty works on this motherboard too. so any suggestion on ram timing and what to change and what not to change on the bios ?

currently priming at 2200Mhz.

compatibility issue with other hardware.
1. unable to be fitted with gecube x800gto. gpu dvi connector is blocked by a capacitor in the motherboard.

I just got my TFORCE 6100 - 939 last week, and i not really good in OC, so me also confuse about changing the ram timing, maybe u can try asking Dinster, he also use the same board..

Dunno is it the kingston value ram ( psc chipset) limit my oc result? I can boot use to oc @ 3.0, but when get into the windows, it will come out with blue screen n restart...
Here is my oc result...

anyone here using biostar tforce with 3rd party vga ? my x800gto is unable to fit into the new mobo due to a capacitor blocking my x800gto dvi connector. damn. anyone have any idea how to go about it ? nayone facing the same problem ?

Althought I OC to 2.96GHz but unable bench and the ram diveder set to 100MHz
The maximum benchable HTT is 361.
This motherboard need some experince and information for better OC result
Currently I active in China's OC forum.
You able change the build in VGA clock frequency (Default is 425MHZ)
Different version of BIOS offer yuo different OC result
Different MOtherboard version also offer different impact. (my 1 is V1.1)

Dont use the incleded software to OC,its have bug.
Currently We disgussing with the Biostar's enginner to release new version BIOS which include RAM diveder 140 150 180

I believe you cant easily go above 2.5ghz on if you on air with Newcastle core. It the last core i gonna get in S754.
From the Top to Bottom - Venice > Clawhammer > Newcastle.
Newcastle is hardly overclock compare to Venice and clawhammer.

i agree with you. only my lanparty was able to bring it up to 2500Mhz benchanle. others mobo fail terribly. even 2400Mhz bootable is a sstruggle.

anyway, how come this motherboard seem to be the craze nowdays?
i see everyone want to get it. any reason why apart from the built in graphic and matx form factor?

it's a mini lanparty as claimed by many ppl. a dfi lanparty cost around rm600 or more while this mobo cost around rm300. but i still trying to figure that out. htt 400+ is common among overclockers on this board. but i'm a noob in this mobo.

Run at 5.5x multiplier..and hit 400HTT.

haha. will try that out when i restart my pc later. dang i'm the server in the house cannot restart pc whenever i like.

oh yeha besides using the gien temp monitoring software .. any other software is compaitble with this mobo ? kinda don;t like the gui of the softwaer given. doesn't look cool or nice.

Newcastle 3000+ really more difficult for OC
MAy I to know what BIOS version you use?
YOu can OC to 2.5GHz on DFI?
I believe DFI Lan Party is much more better compare with this board
Use 1T if can, 2T will seriously decrease the performance

i'm not very sure what bios i used .. it was the first tic tac modded bios with 4V ddr. not sure what is the exact name already. but with all the bioses that i've tried it gives almost similar oc result. more or less 50Mhz diff only.

Starts from loose timings. IMHO, CL2.5 is a bit "tight" for BT-D43.

my current bios sux big time. tis is the one im using cr51m207.bst

any idea which is the "best" bios. what bios you using ?

i hope they will release a new bios that can configure the idle time for the ram. i can't run 1T at 220Mhz. damn.

now using cas latency 3. but still at 2T. jz finish memtest 100%. will wait awhile before tweaking the setting need to rush assignmetn and persentation first.

You using 2 ram for 754,its more difficult for OC

Swap the BIOS in CMOS,if swap in windows it may be damage ur built in LAN card,because will swap the MAC add togehter.

why can't run at 1T ?

i also have difficulty running at 1T. i need help here anyone using any 3rd party vga card on hteir mobo. i think it's not possible to fit any graphic card in the pciex slot as theere is 3 capacitor near the rear of the motherboard which will block the graphic card ( output adapter )

My roomie was using D43 previously. He can go up to DDR480 2.5-4-4-11 1T @ 2.7V only. Well, he was using DFI nF2 Ultra Infinity la, maybe u can give a try on this setting.
btw, the Trc / Trfc = 13/15 if not mistaken.

somehow the nforce 2 platform oces better.
i cant get my rams to be stable even at 217 fsb at 2-3-3-7@1t with 2.85 volts. ( ch-6)
something is quite wrong here. as i usually can do 2-3-3-11 with CPC on ( equivelant to 1t) at 220 fsb

I m still using the onboard vga... still dunno got this problem... Can u show the pic for how is ur graphic card look like...

my card looks like this

noticed the black circle dvi output adapter. the thing will be blocked by 3 capacitor at the motherboard near the pciex clot there.

noticed the green color circle 3 capacitor area. that are the 3 capacitor that i'm talking about blocking my x800gto graphic card dvi output adapter.

funny no one really mention about this issue before. hope it's jz my card not compatible with the motehrboard. was going thru some forum and there is ppl using a 6800 vanilla with this motherboard. didn't hear him complain about anything. wierd weird.

Btw..it stable Quite High for Winbond CH6 already to stable at 2.85v for 217mhz.
My previous BH5 from Xteem only reach 215mhz at 2.9v for CL2.0. Samo it BH5. Your CH6..can consider gem since it CH series which actually need more Voltage compare to BH series at the same clock.BH5/6 will need around 2.85v also for a good 1 to hit 217mhz.

So thats mean.. if we want to upgrade to use pci-e graphic card, we have to check the graphic card again b4 we buy it loh....
But almost the new pci-e pcb board r same 1.....

Can u try push more, how long ur ram have been used??

i personally feel that the ram is gettign hold back because i cannot set the idle time for the ram at bios. i only canchange itwhen i used a64 tweaker. previously when using other motherboard my ram also cannot do well at 16 which is the default setting for my biostar tforce 6100. really hope there will be a bios update that add the option for it.



prime stable for 8 hrs with the above setting.

ur ram can do 250 already... so, like kulus said, use divider lor...

set htt 267, divider 5:6...

ur ram will be at 222mhz, which is stable already since u know u can do 250mhz

ur proc will then be running at 2.4gig

well... yeah. what i said before was assuming that ur proc max multiplier is 9. if u have 10, then go for it.

but if ur max is just 9, then might as well get more mhz for proc by using divider. right now u are running 2.2ghz, wouldnt 2.4gig be better? if im not mistaken, in OCing amd64, go for more mhz for your processor.

again, if u have 10x for your proc multiplier, then by all means, set it to 10x, set htt to 240 (or 250)

im not an expert, so someone else can have a say too these are all my opinions

nah, my processor can't do 24Ghz at all. now back to 2520 priming. something really wierd with my ram on this board. i can memtest 2-3 hrs stable at 250Mhz but can't boot at 251hz. wtf !? all the settign is the same but jz up one Mhz and it's a no boot.

it's all because of pciex

just test with my housemate gigabyte 6600gt and there is no problem fitting it into the motherboard. so i guess it's just my gecube x800gto incompatible with the motherboard.

1) Stepping is LBBWE 0610GAA
2) Overclocking on stock cooler and stock voltage.
3) Highest ramspeed achievable is 480@3-4-4-8 2.7V
4) Highest sucessful proc speed so far is 2.4Ghz.
5) x700pro fits flawlessly

For 939..if u run the onboard GPU with TCCD at DDR600 Dual..i bet it break 4k 3dmark2003.

U sure? It cant even play Frozen Throne smoothly at maximum settings. Well my old Radeon 7500 crack the 7k mark of 3DMark01 easily. So in reference to such an old card, the build in graphics is indeed crap

For Frozen Throne I activated all deteils to highest, default driver setting,
no lag at all
Need for Speed underground 1 default setting also no lag
NFS most wanted hav'nt try yet,somebody said will be lag

Ok... quite scare play alone in the midnight....for the system(Display) i have set to low detail, screen 640X480 then at advanced setting, only Enable bump maps...
I can tell u guy its running smooth, no lag at all.... maybe u guys can try urself...

hmm .. my 3d mark 03 was only 19xx yours looks pretty good.

i tried playing dota with everything maximum ... it's not laggy but personally i feel it's abit slow not very smooth but indeed still very playable.

i'm talking about this

minimum is 0 and maximum setting is 255. i have install coolbit i'm not sure the default driver have this setting or not. 0 value give better performance to me.
