Well, Nokia didn't say they didn't want to bring it in, just that Malaysia will be MUCH MUCH LATER than other countries as we are not in their priority list, even China and India tops us.
And you guys know why? Cos Malaysians are obsessed with only Samsung and Androids phones. Let's face it, WP's acceptance or adoption rate in Malaysia is so low... I guess probably about 0.01% (yeah, I'm exaggerating) of all smartphones users?
So, if you are Nokia, will you bother to release your phones in Malaysia first? Or you will release your phones in other countries that have higher adoption rate of your devices?
So, I'm not gonna blame Nokia on that... Just that we are too niche to their markets... is all...
Just my 2 cents...

But still you guys in West Malaysian will still get the phones much EARLIER than us East Malaysia folks...
So, please don't be too upset... haha... sweat.gif

For those who wanna get better grasp of how Nokia Reinvented Zoom works

the more I see, the more tempting I wanna get the phone...
Still gonna hold my urge till the day it offers with the camera grip bundled (like how Lumia 920 + Wireless Charging Plate lately)...

Certainly, the only cameraphone that can come close to the Lumia 1020 output is the Nokia 808 PureView with its even larger sensor. As we already mentioned we compared those two side by side and found that Nokia has slightly altered the processing algorithms in its new cameraphone flagship.
Unlike the 808 PureView, which delivered natural colors that are as close to reality as we've seen any smartphone get, the Lumia 1020 goes for boosted saturation and warmer colors. We suspect this has a lot to do with the former head of Nokia imaging Damian Dinning leaving the company. Mr Dinning was a fan of more natural unprocessed look and most Nokia smartphones developed under his lead reflected that.
Now the Lumia 1020 takes a different path and goes for the punchier output even if that means sacrificing some detail. The saturation boost has cost the Lumia 1020 some fine detail, which is still present on the 808 PureView shots. We really hope Nokia tunes down the default saturation in the final product as those who like more vibrant colors can always boost the saturation from the camera settings.
You can be more than sure that we'll bring you a more detailed review of the 41MP camera of the Lumia 1020 complete with our usual set of camera samples once we get our hands on a retail unit.

If there's demand, they should release it earlier.

Why don't you folks keep spamming the facebook page if there's any help to fastened the release for MY?

Well, you have to consider their cost of delivery per unit if just deliver in small quantity. It just won't justify their profit margin if just to test market. For Malaysian's case, if the fans really love the phone, they will wait as long as they know that the phone will be reached eventually. There is no harm for Malaysian's market to flock to Samsung or Apple since there is only a TINY LITTLE MINI % of global market.
That's how I will look at us Malaysian's market from Nokia's perspective.

Usually won't be too long after China release, just worry about limited stocks though... so either have to grab fast or wait even longer. As for me, I don't mind waiting any more longer since I still have my Lumia 920 with me. Am going to try the amber updates with Smart Camera Pro then WP 8.1 afterall. Never regret getting Lumia 920 ever.
Though still kinda jelly to those who get 1020 first... cry.gif

Malaysia facebook? Well, I think these people are just a bunch of Facebookers who are just hired to play Facebook only. They ain't in position to plead the Nokia Global to release the phones to them at all.

Yes indeed, how did you know? Is there any chances that you're working for social media?

Like it or not, if you can control your "hype" on new devices, you can tell yourself to stop hyping and stop raging towards Nokia for delivering late in your country.

We actually have a pretty accurate tipster from the community, he mentioned 925 will be announced on the 4th week of this month and we will see if his "tips" is accurate or not, if it's then you may stalk him for further updates. rolleyes.gif

yeap, agree, it's somewhat different than other companies, the Nokia Malaysia facebook page is controlled by some PR firm hired by Nokia, so they will keep on post promotional post, but for real problems, they either hardly reply, or late to reply cos they still need to seek advice from Nokia internal. As for spamming there, all they can do is to collect the feedback and report up, they don't have any nego rights for that.

I know because I am a former Nokia Ranger and I know the person that used to manage the page, he left the PR firm so I suppose another person replaced him

announced? You mean for Nokia Malaysia? hmm... I thought they already somehow hinted that it will be coming. Just don't have exact date. I could be wrong though... cos I usually don't bother their website until I see the announcement from here.
You made a point there bro, control your hype and everything's cool. DESIRE is the source of all kind of emotions.
Wow... sounds like a shifu who lives in deep jungle or top of mountain. LOL

Whatever it will be, it's going to be a long wait. When I go to Nokia shop in The Curve I asked them when will be the release of Lumia 925, they say it will be after raya. If that is the fate of a phone that been released a month ago, I expect at least September or October before 1020 reach Malaysia.

Sept or Oct not too bad. The reviews would have come and dissected everything about the 1020 and best is that we can read about the first 3 month user issues / break-in period and then decide if it's worthy.

True.

Read all the review and determine if it's worthy or not.

Jz wondering if it is worthy to upgrade from 808PV or not...
Wider aperture, BSI, OIS...

For me it would be for WP8 (provided the camera performance is on par with the 808PV).
The fluidity of browsing, UI, "general" usage > symbian.
Apps that i use: internet browser, whatsapp, facebook, media player, maps, runtastic (as a replacement for endomondo which I'm using for the 808PV) - all covered in WP8. Anything else is a bonus.
