I changed to 215/50/17 tyre after 3 weeks took the car..confident go up 50% when going through holes..but still the suspension not up to civic..hehe
By the way, I will take the foam undercarriage and spring buffer for my next mod..Thanks for your advice..How much the price for undercarriage foam??

Could you kindly advise if your 215/50/R17 Tyres hit the Car Tyre Well or Arches?
Meaning with the 215/50 thicker profile tyres, does the tyre hit your car body when u go thru bumps/humps/uneven roads/passenger load?

This is what I feel but not sure if its true or not because I don't see the incident.

1) (rear).. if you have 2 passenger at back, it will hit the tyre well but depends on the bumps condition and uneven roads sudden. Also need to consider the car speed during that time. the more speed than the chances to hit tyre well is high with 2 passengers at back but if no passenger, I thinks it will not hit.

2) (rear).. if no passenger, it will hit the tyre well due to high bumps with no smooth ends of the bumps...our car combo weight body + soft spring make this happen.

3) (front).. tyre will hit will arch when you turning/cornering at uneven roads..but this is too seldom to hit for my case (depends on the speed).

This cases will not hit any of well or arch if you drive with reasonable speed..It looks like more cons than pros change the tyre to 215/50/17 blush.gif

Undercarriage foam is 400. I did it in Eco Asia. I am happy with the work and the money paid. My friend did it in KL Auto for 980, but he foamed the front undercarriage too, which I think is dangerous. I did only center and rear.

Most aparent effect is the braking become more solid. No more driver tilting to the front due to car flexing during emergency brake. One of the mod paid with no regret. Cornering really no comment because I don't corner hard. Plus, the tire is not suitable for hard corners.

I would really recommend to put stiff ring first. You will feel the difference on uneven road. After 2 weeks or so then add the buffer. The buffer not expensive. 160 for 4 pcs. Better quality ones. I will be adding for my front next week.

The hitting part is what really turned me down from changing to higher profile. I don't want to change to 16". Look comes first. But 16" definitely is more comfy. Dilema-nya.

It does happen to some of the members. Some cured after hours, some just don't go away. If the fog is there after hours, go complain. Change new set.

But don't worry. BMW and merc get this same thing too.

For Eco Asia look for a forumer here, Icecube. He has a series of SP and foam. So far I am happy with the work done, the service, the result and the price. The place looks dodgy though, but product is working for me. Do your own study and decide. I am not implying anything.

Modern cars nowadays are designed in such away that the front and rear disperse the impact force during collision. This is achieved by the frontal deformation to elongate the time required for the force to reach you. The longer the time, the lesser force transferred. The front, rear must deform in order to pass crash test.

If you foam the front undercarriage, the distance between the foamed undercarriage and bumper is less than 5". Physics law of energy says that energy cannot be destroyed nor created. So the head on impact will go directly into the cabin. If you are holding the steering at that moment, you can say goodbye to your hands. Or even if you don't hold steering, the force on you will be larger than those who did not foam frontal undercarriage.

For the rear, once you do, the force transferred to the cabin will be larger too because rear cannot deform much. Rear seat passenger will take more force than you at the front because of the distance and you have active headrest. But head to head collision will create much larger force than cium buntot. Look into basic physics on force if you want to know more. Taking this into consideration, I have decided to do centre and rear. I ommit the front even if the price different is not much.

My personal opinion. This is what I did and it is not a guideline.

Good news for all who has joined the group buy for VG Mark II Shark Fin Antenna. The production of goods have been completed and has been shipped. Now lead time will remain 10 working days max if nothing happens in kastam. Lets pray hard hard.

SHARK FIN ANTENNA GROUP BUY

http://www.forteforums.com/forums/attachme...rk-fin-fin2.jpg

Price

VG Mark II Shark Fin Antenna = USD 69/ pcs (Firm)
Freight (for 4 units) = USD 80 (Firm) or USD 20/ pcs
Tax = Unknown 2
Paypal Forex as of 28 May 2013, 0929 Hours MST= USD 1 : MYR 3.141 or MYR 1 : USD 0.318363

So the price formula per piece will be as below:-

[(69+20)*3.1410] + Unknown 2
=RM 279.55 + Unknown 2

Unknown 2

Tax according to the price of senior member, they got it without tax from the same source I am getting. I have asked VG (supplier) to mark the package as gift (1) and lower the total pricing on air way bill (AWB) to avoid tax (2). (1) is to avoid tax and (2) is to lower the tax amount just in case touchwood kena tangkap. How much they are lowering I do not know as they will need to make stories and figure reasonable. I left that to them.

Terms

I AM NOT THE SELLER

Just incase Unknown 2 applies, I will ask for top up. If there is saving and the total charge is less than 300, I will refund upon delivery, or via Maybank.

About the paint code, their paint code NAME is different from NAZA’s paint code NAME. I have seen pictures and I would say it is same. I will take the risk for my own purchase. So please do not bombard me if the colour comes out to be slight different/ not up to your expectation. If yours is different by slight, mine will be too. All Titanium Silver regardless of year carries the same code. Naza’s code is V03 for TitS, but for them, the TitS’ code is IM. No V03 is found on Kia, but they found on Mazda and V03 is purple. I have asked them to proceed with code IM as per the colour shown on pictures.

This is the plug and play functioning fractal antenna that I have found (besides those that need you to disassemble your whole stock antenna base or those only for aesthetic purpose). This one is just stick on with an internal cord connected to your stock antenna base. I have NOT tried using this before hence I have no personal review. I have read through all 18 version of thread and there is not enough data to say this will maintain, upgrade or downgrade the radio signal, but no one seems to be complaining. What I have read is that it will have different effect on different channel. I have no identification of which channel will be affected. So I am taking the risk here too. Therefore please don't shoot me if the signal thingy does not go your way.

For those who need this, I can help in getting them. I earn no money from this. All who have participated in group buy are around KL/ Selangor area. I can find time to meet around KL (Bukit Jalil, Mid Valley Area) and Selangor (Shah Alam, Klang) or any other special arrangement.

The final details of member took part are as below:-

1) lingleeyen (Qty: 1 x 2013 Kia Forte 4-Dr Sedan - Titanium Silver / V03)
2) blunderboy (Qty: 1 x 2012 Kia Forte 4-Dr Sedan - Titanium Silver / V03)
3) suai (Qty: 1 x 2012 Kia Forte 4-Dr Sedan - Titanium Silver / V03)
4) kennysik88 (Qty: 1 x 2012 Kia Forte 4-Dr Sedan - Titanium Silver / V03)

There will be no difference is the shark fin itself and the colour for all above. All 4 of us will be getting the identical unit.

Production is completed. Units have been shipped. Shipping is 6 to 10 working days, as I have upgraded to shipping package with tracking number and insurance. Normal freight takes longer and not recommended even by the seller.

I will update again once I have news that the units are received. I will contact member via msg once I am ready to deliver the units to hand. COD preffered as all members participated are in KL/ Selangor area.
