QUOTE(xchaosdragon @ Jul 29 2013, 09:21 PM) I am only interested in N7 Lte, too bad there's compatibility issue with local bands. Any updates on regarding this yet? search before asking. i tink got 3 same answers in this thread d. europe LTE can work with our LTE. US LTE cannot work with our LTE but can work with our HSPA(3G+) QUOTE(Xirality @ Jul 29 2013, 09:23 PM) yup, in the official specs list. |

QUOTE(teckyang97 @ Jul 29 2013, 09:59 PM) You think so?its super useful when you come back home, just put your tablet on your wireless charger, done, tablet is one of the most annoying to charge especially when plugging in cable, phone still ok The tablet must always be placed on the charging pad? And the charging pad has to be connected to the wall socket by wire?If so, how is that convenient or better than just plugging a cable to the tablet? Ideal case, yes but practically (real life), impossible. Nothing is perfect. You want it not to use electricity, you have to totally switch off the thing. Else do you really expect the wireless charging pad to wake itself up to start charging your phone when you place your phone on it? This also applies to transistors in all SoC. Ideal case, it should be consuming no power at all when one transistor is in its off state. But in real life, there's something called leakage thus making zero power consumption idle impossible This post has been edited by IwanAGP: Jul 29 2013, 10:27 PM |

QUOTE(jacktay94 @ Jul 29 2013, 10:32 PM) Erm... As they shrink down a transistor (microarchitecture), reducing the length of the gate, the leakage is getting more and more serious. I remember I read before that 28nm is about the limit before the leakage gone too high. That also explains why Intel started using FinFet for their Ivy bridge at 22nm and in Haswell, 22nm too. Reduced leakage!! It actually not "a bit", it affects a lot. Else they will just keep shrinking without new tech. This explains why they need new architecture to keep up with the increase in performance and to keep leakage/power consumption low at the same time. |
