I just checked the Tech Specs for the new Nexus 7 again, and it seems that they've updated the LTE Part:

Optional 4G LTE
North America:
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
HSPA+: 850/900/1900/2100/1700/2100(AWS) MHz (Bands: 1/2/4/5/8)
LTE: 700/750/850/1700/1800/1900/2100 MHZ (Bands: 1/2/3/4/5/13/17)
Europe:
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
HSPA+: 850/900/1900/2100/1700/2100(AWS) MHz (Bands: 1/2/4/5/8)
LTE: 800/850/1700/1800/1900/2100/2600 MHz (Bands: 1/2/3/4/5/7/20)
Does this mean that we will be able to use the LTE with the US version of LTE enabled Nexus 7 since 1800MHz is included?
But you'll prefer the Europe version.
Celcom Malaysia 1800 3 Yes May 2013 [139]
Celcom Malaysia 2600 7 Yes April 2013 [140][141]
DiGi Malaysia 2600 7 Yes July 2013 [142]
Maxis Malaysia 1800 3 Yes April 2013 [143]
Maxis Malaysia 2600 7 Yes January 2013
I believe they won't have both 1800 and 2600 covering the same area so it's better to get the EU version since it has both 1800 and 2600.
Anyway, without LTE, you'll be getting HSPA+ too. It is fast enough d, too fast means you burning your quote at a faster rate
