Any recommendations for good IEMs priced under RM150? I came from Audio Technicas to UEs and recently someone lost my UEs so I need a cheaper alternative which sounds comparably good.

Thinking of the Hippo Pearl and Sennheiser CX200s. Any suggestions on which is the best?

Hello guys,My cousin recently was looking for a pair of IEM headphone since his sonic gear is broken (rusted)
He use it with his galaxy note 1,using for watching MV and listen to music (commuter use) .Budget below Rm100. File Mp3 format, genre is Kpop,J pop and some rap song. If there is any IEM with control would be better (you can recommand those without control too) smile.gif Thanks in advance!

How about W1000x? I didn't know how to explain it in music jargon, however my taste was to listen to the instrumental song. Most of it is quite a sad song that will trigger manly tears for those who are sensitive to soulful music. Example, Korean drama instrumental ... or Indon love movie instrumental . Didn't like rock or with too much bass.

For your information too, this will be my first headphone. At first I'm thinking to purchase M50, but after too much of good reviews, I'm thinking to get high end closed-back headphone that is much better than M50 itself. This is the reason I ended up with A1000x, A2000x, or W1000x as my budget is limited. Looking for other brand too, such as Sennheiser 650or Moda M-100 .. however, it was open and focus on bass. momentum is more compatible with ipod or iphones.

Thank you for your feedback  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

Depend on situation, if you are a vocal, instrument song lover, never go M50, that are more suitable for fast and impactful music.
My personal recommendation will be Beyerdynamic, Grado and Alessandro series, they have the juice for clinical instrumental, amazing feel for vocal music genre.
W1000x require good amp thou, do you plan to invest on them?

Question, will I risk damaging my SE215 if I wear it to go gym/jogging?
*
Best recommendation? Don't use it for gym/jogging, you tend to spoil them easily, as it is not water resistant, the connection between the earphone and the cable might be the vital point for water.
My suggest will be, use SE215 for serious listening, get a cheap boomy earphone for sport, as you won't be super heart pain when you spoiled the SE215.

Hey dude, I am trying out a Hippo Pro One, the cable is kinda 'fragile' for me, seems you are great in these stuffs, do you know any way to take care of it better than 'handle it carefully'?
Thanks!
*
It is not consider fragile actually, the cable is good quality cable, it has the similar quality with branded such as Westone and Earsonic, the reason why it looks "fragile" because of the flexibility, you can bend anyway you like, and it is multi core tie up, so the tendency of broken them is hard.

Hello,

I'm looking for full sized headphones. I don't know which type but yeah, as long as they're not earphones (earbuds, in-ear, etc.). Mainly be using it for music, with .mp3 being the main file type. My rig would be my phone (sony ericsson elm, w/3.5mm adapter). I mainly listen to contemporary pop, and a lil bit of rock. I do not want the mic. My budget is RM100, as I'm still a student tongue.gif

Would appreciate the help biggrin.gif ,
Thanks,

Hey, im looking for a pair of good earphones for music & movie. I would appreciate any recommendations for a good earphone. I am currently looking at Shure SE530, which has good reviews. My budget is around RM1k to RM 1.5k

Thanks for your thoughts.

Shure SE530 is a discontinued model, you basically can't get them anywhere, try their latest SE535.
My personal recommendation will be Westone 4R and Logitech UE900 (recommended)

Noted for the M50s.

I'm currently eyeing A2000X. There are also T70P and Denon HD-600 with additional topup. Quite hard to choose as there's no clear winner ... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

Grado is more towards open back right? hmm.gif

Btw, I'll invest on AMP which will be less than RM 300 in the near future

I've never owned over-ear headphones, looking for a pair now, for home and personal use.

Most important are

(i) Comfort (ii) Sound quality (iii) Noise isolation

while I don't want wireless or active noise cancelling (anything that needs batteries/charging).

Within budget of RM300-RM700

Some that caught my eye are

Audio Technica ATH M50

AKG K 240 MK II

Audio Technica ES700

I have Soundsticks II for normal use, now want some headphones cos the ultimate ear earphones getting uncomfortable

Normally listen to all contemporary genres, top 40, dance, pop, R&B, a bit of acoustic

Going to check some out at the airport (overseas) when I stop by, if can test I would probably just test whatever then buy.

Anything to look out for in case they don't have testing? I figure buying here in Australia is cheaper than in KL

Grado is not towards open back, it is a fully open back set of headphones. It depends on what kind of sound you're looking for, if you're leaning more towards rock, metal or that kind of genre, Grado would be your best.

Haven't had much good experience with AT's cans, even with their Woody series, just can't seem to appreciate their tuning, but that's just me.

If i were you, try to find a balance between a price for headphones and amp. You wouldn't want to spend good money on expensive cans to find out you're lacking the capability to drive to its fullest.

Thanks for the feedback. It's quite dangerous for me to use open back set as my cubicle just inside the HR department and in front of the Head of HR. Therefore, any leakage would only cause a disaster. The headphone itself may already cause uncomfortable to other colleagues.

Therefore, the only type of Over ear Headphone (closed back) on my list within my range of budget was W1000X, A2000X, T70P, Denon D2000 or HD600 ... or i should fork more money to have a better headphone?

My original was M50 .. but due to the a lot of poison review in the Internet .. the budget have been increased almost thrice ... moneyflies.gif moneyflies.gif moneyflies.gif

Hello there . I'm interested in buying a new pair of earphones , I've never bought one before . Most of the earphones I've owned are free ones provided with mp3 players or with phones .

I only listen to music and nothing else with my mp3 . Files are stored in mp3 format . I listen to pop , R&B , indie , techno , trance , and very occasionally , rock .

I'm not sure what is a closed or an open earphone though . I just want a pair of earphones that'll hopefully minimise noise around me .

Price range , very budget-restrained since I'll receive funding from my parents , so around RM 100 - RM 200 would do it . I noticed that there are several Sony ones but not sure if they are good .

Thanks !

If Open back is a gone case, then i believe Grado/Alessandro will be immediate out of the game.
A2000x has a very different taste for vocal, and i believe they made for Jap vocal, it has thinner, refreshing mid frequency, unique as listening experience.
In term of instrumental, i couldn't put much conclusion on that, it is good for instruments that varied from mid treble to high frequency, however for drum kick, it has slightly roll off.

T70 can be a great option to try on.

No problem if playing from iPod right? Like not weak or anything.

Soundsticks play from Nano = fail.

I noticed Beyerdynamic has different versions of each model (ohms/resistance).
