im planning a trip to bali again on end of jan 08.. you guys think I should go with the Air Asia Go holiday package that comes with the flight and hotel or.. just get AA tickets and look for hotels to stay myself?
Im gonna be looking at a 5 or 6 day stays. Might be travelling with 4-6pax

I mean, both doesnt comes with tours, but which is more worth it? choose our own hotels? or .. stay with AA's chosen hotels?

Me actually just back from Bali last weel. Spent 6 days 5 nights there stayed at Hard Rock Hotel Bali, Kuta. It was a amazing trip and I love Kuta beach.

For me, Jimbaran is a bit over rated. The sunset is nice, but the eating seafoot on the beach (especially with the overprice food) is nothing new for us Malaysian i guess. Kintamani has a very nice view with volcano. But u know lar....i hate those street seller....keep chasing me for buying their goods. LOL Besides that, lot of Hindu temples.

Nusa Dua is nice and popular with water sports. Diving is quite reasonable there too and most important, "u dont need a license to dive there"!! hehe....

Well....i think i would make a return trip there....and just for Kuta beach!

Sunset at Uluwatu is much more nicer than watching it Dreamland, and also IMO the entrance fee for Dreamland is really not worth it, not to mention you'll have to climb down a sandy and slippery staircase down the cliff to reach the beach, really not recommended for elderly and kids.
If you are interested to see the giant statues of Vishnu and Garuda, can consider going to GWK since it's in the same area, but nothing much to see also beside the 2 giant statues there plus the unique limestone mining area.

Skip Pacung if possible, Tegalalang has a much better view. And also never ever go for the buffet lunch there at Pacung, which is super expensive and tasted awful, not to mention not very hygienic too.

I wanted to go to Lia Cafe in Jimbaran, but I'm confused on the location. I understand that there are 25 restaurants on the Jimbaran beach, and I thought Lia was one of it. But then, I just found out that Lia is one of the 6 original restaurants nearer to airport. Which means, Lia Cafe it's not on the Jimbaran Beach?? My hotel is within walking distance to the 25 restaurants, but now can I still walk to Lia Cafe?? I couldn't find the Lia Cafe map on the internet. rclxub.gif

hmm.gif I tot I oledi posted the photo of Lia Cafe & the maps mths ago...here is the photos again biggrin.gif

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=12269999

Can't u find the Lia Cafe signboard on the 2nd last restaurant just before the Bamboo restaurant?..That's the cheapest so far....Yes Lia is one of the original reaturants at the site. The most popular one will be Ramayana but expecting to pay >RM100 for a dinner for 2 compare to less popular but nicer food of Lia....(Mine only RM25 for 3!)

The newer restaurants are those nearer to the Airport in the North. The olders or the original restaurants complex is located far end (infact a dead end of far South)

Yep, I read ur post on that before but I got confused when I read thru other articles about the different spot of seafood restaurants. Sorry ya. blush.gif
So that means, the 6 restaurants (inc Lia) is nearer to me. Hope the price and quality remains the same as your experience. If it's good, I dun mind to go there every nite since I'm staying quite near to it. smile.gif

Probably u can try also the bamboo restaurant (The last 1)...I din check the price there. Decided on Lia bcos it is the cheapest of few restaurants at the complex biggrin.gif ...U will be wondering why so many ppl goto Ramayana & lia/Bamboo so empty... biggrin.gif

BTW, those newer one nearer to Kedongan Fishing jetty are more luxury & like a semi-D Bali houses..

The one providing transport are those expensive restaurants such as Ramyana in the centre of the photo...Normally those restaurants are having package seafood dinner wth price starting from US30/pax & above.(U can get those brochures from the Airport). That is why I said be prepared to pay >RM100 for the dinner which u can get for only RM30 & below if u walk in & check the price urself....For 1st timer, I tot I will regret eating at Lia too bcos of the lesser crowd compare to Ramyana .but after checking the price..Lia better. U can check another forumer (Jootat) who pay >RM180 for the seafood dinner! & complaining on the expensive dinner !..Well I enjoyed the RM25 dinner very well... thumbup.gif

Check out Jootat experience on expensive Jimbaran seafood! (Rp500K) shocking.gif ....Sumore recommended by his driver shocking.gif :
