3D/2N is too short for Bali, it will be a very pack trip if you intended visit most of the places. Suggest at least 4D/3N and the ideal one will be 5D/4N or longer.

Airfares you can check airasia, different day of travel has different pricing, and please state your budget for hotel.

RM1,000++ should be enough for a 2 pax 3D/2N trip if you manage to get cheap Airasia tickets.

Hi all, Im going to Bali this Nov 16th. 5D/4N trip.

I will be staying at Kuta for 2N and after that at Ubud for 2N. I read thru all the post but still bit blur. So I need some recommendation.

I reach there at noon, so probly will hang out in Kuta itself. Any nice eating place in Kuta place itself? Preferbly non-high class. Wanna try out some local delicacy. Dirty duck in Kuta rite?

What should I do while Im in Kuta? Which place should I visit while Im there? Such as Kintamani, Tanah Lot and etc? And also where should I visit while Im in Ubud?

My friend recommend me water rafting but he forgot the name of the place. Any ideas which one I should go?

Thanks for any suggestion or recommendation.

Kuta food is very pricy & mostlay cater for Mat Salleh. So u will be expecting warong food such as Lontong, Bakso & etc wth price starting from Rp12K onwards (>RM5/plate)...But in my 2005 trip, I manage to find cheap food at one of the alley located inside Poppy Lane 2 i.e the lane opposite the 1st Bali bombed site (Ground Zero). U can find those warongs selling Bali & chinese cooked food ~Rp8-10K/plate...Taste so-so only.. Avg price of normal Nasi Goreng around Kuta is Rp15K or ~RM8/plate..There are lotsa of eateries there including seafood but u will be paying >US$10/pax in those restaurants!

If u dun mind dirty warongs beside longkang..u probably can get those food cheap around Rp6K only...but just pray ur stomach can take-it biggrin.gif

Kuta is a tourist town. U either shop there (pricy), clubing, watching Mat Salleh surfing or surf 4 urself. So spend less time in Kuta if u r not clubbing type. Go far away to Kintamani (~80KM North), Bedugul (~60km North), Tanah Lot ~35km Northwest, Ubud ~35KM North or Sukawati for shopping ~30km NorthEast

I hv not been to the water rafting site but it is nxt to thye Monkey forest road in Ubud if I'm not mistaken....And it is not cheap...& almost all the watersport/outdoor activities are very pricy in Bali...Expecting US$100 & above for each outdoor activities there... shocking.gif rclxub.gif ..Unless u really know how to bargain! I tried asking for cheap snorkelling trip at Benoa for ~RM100 & the best they can give is US150!!..Even I walked away they din bother to call me bck!! mad.gif

seems like you didn't do enough homework tongue.gif

Dirty Duck is in Ubud, a restaurant call Bebek Bengil. You need to book one day in advance if you want to order the smoke duck set, which is enough for 2.

I guess you didn't arrange for a driver, issit? else you won't be asking where to go while in Kuta, and ubud etc... tongue.gif

It doesn't matter where you are staying and where to go... as long as you hired a driver, he will bring you to any location you want to visit.

You can read other peoples itinerary to get some general idea where to go, or spend some time in bookstore reading lonely planet guides helps a lot too. Or if you can read chinese, try this forum http://chinese.cari.com.my/myforum/viewsub.php?gid=348
lot's of information there too.

I wouldnt want spend much time in Kuta itself, thats why Im looking where to go while im in Kuta for 2 and a half days and the rest in Ubud. So I think I should visit those places that are nearer to them.

I did email the driver i got from this thread, but not sure if he ever check his mail. Im just scare that I wont be able to get him by phone when i reach there or he might be fully book for that duration.

My initial itinerary:
Day 1 (Kuta/Tuban):
- Reach Kuta at noon
- Check in at Green Garden hotel at Tuban
- Didnt plan to go anywhere far. Just walk around Kuta and surrounding area.
- Dinner at Jimbaran.

Day 2 (Kuta/Tuban):
- Hire a driver
- Pura Taman Ayun
- Tanah Lot (Pura Luhur Uluwatu and Pura Pakendungan)
- Uluwatu
- Dinner at Jimbaran again.

Day 3 (Kuta/Tuban - Ubud):
- Check out from Green Garden Hotel and check in at Tegal Sari, Ubud.
- Shopping around Ubud area.
- EAT EAT EAT!
- SPA

Day 4 (Ubud)
- Hire driver
- Water Rafting (Ayung River)
- EAT EAT EAT!
- Pura Ulun Danu Bratan
- Kintamani
- EAT EAT EAT!
- Spa

Day 5 (Ubud):
- Check out and go back home.

So hows my journey looks like? Too pack or I can still fit in more activities?

Day 2 a bit kosong... you can squeeze in more
Maybe you can go to tanah lot in the morning, lesser people and cooler too
then go taman ayun

Uluwatu go during sunset is the best, I'll say they has the most beautiful sunset in whole Bali, after that if you want, you may go for the interesting Kecak fire dance there.

Dont think I will going for the Kecak dance, most of my friend said it aint worth it.

BTW, I have contacted the driver thru mail, he said its gonna be 300k Rupiah per day without time limit. Is that a good bargain?

Hi all, I only have 2 days to do sightseeing in Bali. Others will be diving. For first day, I will be travelling from South (Kuta) to North (Tulamben) and for last day, from North (Tulamben) to South (Kuta/Nusa Dua). Any suggestion about:

(1) How much is the driver+guide+petrol+car for a day like this?
(2) In between the route, I saw that Ubud, Kitanami etc. are very interesting places. Any recommendation about the itenary?
(3) Any interesting places around Tulamben? I only know that it is a diving area, quiet and no night life.

Thanks in advance. Going in mid-November. Very excited.

No one been to Tulamben here?

Probably too far North Eastern of Bali (>130km away from Kuta)..& the sand is black if u zoom in via Google Earth....Although I heard the water quality is superb for Diving (Not snorkelling.. hmm.gif ).....For better sand quality i.e soft white sand ..there are only few location in Bali...:

1) Uluwatu to Nusa Dua thumbup.gif
2) Short strip around Padang Bai to Candidasa
3) Sanur & Kuta (Yellowish sand) but water quality suxx)

Other areas i.e Northern, Western & Eastern Bali having black sand..& thus looks dirty if there are foreign objects such as offerings or rubbish on the beach...

As a comparison I attached the GE img of:

Tulanbem- North Easter Bali (>130km away) Rarely populated but the beach is Black a no-no! for beach luver sad.gif

And this Dreamland Beach South of Bali (~20km from Kuta) - White sand..crytal clear water & lotsa topless bathers.. drool.gif ..The boxy black squares are where the locals harvesting seaweeds...
