planning to go to bali on next year February.. just wanted to know is there any monsoon season at Bali?

Kuta is not relaxing....Nothing much to do except window shopping, DVD hunting & etc.....Unless u'r a surfer, no point relaxing on the beach...bcos the beach at Kuta is nothing to shout about....It is better to relax at those beaches West of Nusa Dua till Uluwatu...pure crystal clear water...

On ur revised itinery, it is better if :

Bedugul>Ubud>Tanah Lot>Uluwatu

BTW, u hv miss Kintamani...try not to miss this once in a lifetime real Volcano watching... ..really nice scenery up there....

So instead of relaxing at Kuta for 2 days, spend only 1 day & let the 2 full days venturing out....My new suggestion for u (Abit pack also:)

1st day - Kintamani > Bedugul > Ubud > Tanah Lot
2nd day - Uluwatu > Dreamland/ Geger> Nusa Dua> Sukawati sourvenir bazaar > Denpasar> Kuta

The view is one in a lifetime experience unless u hv been to numerous real volcanoes b4......For me Kintamani is one of the best beside Uluwatu & Tanah Lot..Its also nothing to do over in Uluwatu & Tanah Lot but why ppl go there...Yes the pest from the locals is a problem, anyway from those pest u can really get the cheapest bargain & the price is even cheaper than Sukawati!!.....Check on my previous posting & picture..I managed to get the 1ft high Garuda scupture for only RM20! where in Tanah lot is selling about RM50 & Singapore Chinatown selling at S$200!!  

Anyway, I belif u r 1 of many that dun really enjoy Bali... Well I enjoyed & so do others.....

u can ask for a late checkout but they will of course charge u....Fat Yogi charged me Rp100k for half day

and yeah, i went to Bali with love-angel so our answers are almost the same

Bali massage is not as good as Thai Massage..to soft/relaxing to my liking...& also they almost stripe u naked not like Thai...in pyjamas

As wth other airports, just goto the taxi ticket counter & buy ticket there..There is one prominent taxi co called silverbird (Hope is correct) that have their pricing prominently displayed..for eg (I might be wrong) ..To Kuta -n Rp30,000 to Seminyak Rp50,000, to Denpasar Rp70,000 & etc....The pricing is approx but around that price-lah...

Or else, do it lik what I did,,,Bargain kaw-kaw & rent a car there! I managed to rent a Suzuki Jeep for RM50/day throught out my 2 trips to Bali.. ..Sumore right now petrol price in Indonesia is cheaper than M'sia!!

I booked Pat-mase in Jimbaran and Suly resort in Ubud. When I come back only I'm able to tell if they are good. Suly wasn't my first choice cos I booked only about two weeks ago and the "nice" resorts that I wanted was fully booked already. "Nice" means look from the pictures nice la...I wanted a view of the paddy field. Suly appeared affordable and decent and with other no more so I booked it.

The rate is USD260 per night for the 3-bedroom villa during peak period. I don't know whether it's good but from the pictures that tourist had taken, it was quite OK. They say Jimbaran is quiet and has nothing there but that's precisely why we want to go there . It is also near the beach.

Both my trips to Bali were via renting & driving. The cheapest I got was from a car rental on the far right of the Exit of arrival hall ...I did post the name of the car rental but forgotten which post oledi  U really hv to bargain kaw-kaw..At the end I got the suzuki jeep for 120,000rupiah/day or about RM45/day

It's very safe driving in Bali. Even on my 1st trip, I was not using any GPS maps at all...The locals are so helpful...I got lost couple of time and once u stop the local, they will direct you especially seeing a Chinese speaking Indon!!  . Twice I was stopped by Policemen and after noticing me checking the paper maps..he personally ask me to follow him till I reached my destination at Goa Gajah!!   

Those con-men actually not really con-men, They are illegal toll collectors everywhere around Bali traditional villages such as Jimbaran, Benoa, Sanur beach, Kintamani & etc...They will collect ~5000rupiah -10,000rupiah or more for each car passing by their kampungs!!   

On my 2nd trip last year, wth the GPS maps on hand...everything was so easy. Just find the location or create a waypoint from Google Earth/wikimapia for those POI not in the maps & just follow the instruction...Very accurate routable maps indeed!!  ..No need to ask...The GPS maps even lead me to Java Timur, where I took a ferry across the Bali street to Bayu Wangi - Supposely going to Mt Ijen (The famous Sulfure mining volcano) but too bad, I arrived late!

Hmm...just came back from Bali but I really didnt enjoy it. Tried their local food, babi guling, ayam bertutut....ewww...not tasty at all. Even our roti canai is much more better.

Need to travel for 1-2 hours to visit those historical places. Is quite hot over there.

5 Days 4 Nights. It started rain during the last 2days during my trips. But the rain stop quite fast. Remember to bring ur umbrella.
I expect nothing in Bali. I only share out my experience with their local food. What u had in Bali then? Can share? McD? KFC?
Try their Bali guling at ibu ota...See how those makcik using their hand to peel off the meat 1 by 1....usshh...and remember to try their favourite drink, teh botol.
