Okie, if we want to fly there first and look for motel/hotel there and might be cheaper rite?  May i know what is the range of the price and how much difference if we got to book it online compared to book it on the spot?  Need some opinions on this because travelling overseas is very the risky if we did not prepare in advanced.  Just a bit worried ....  ohmy.gif

y dont u check online for rates first then u decide. its better this way since it's your 1st time there.

I also booked a full tour package during my 1st time there cos I haven been there before so I played safe. After my 1st time, I know oredi so I go there with no hotel prebooking.

Bali survives solely on tourism. so just imagine what range of hotels and motels and inns they have there. From USD20 to USD150. Depending place lor. maybe u book hotel one night first la. then u will understnd what I'm trying to tell u. cos ur 1st time sure u worried.

Any recommended link to book it online or you can check it out with ur friend for me?  icon_question.gif

i just got back from bali 2 weeks ago...
as for me, i book through the internet, and of course it's cheaper than walk in.
if u r planning to stay in kuta-n not looking for 'high class' accommodation then choose those near jln legian, u might find it cost savings as u don't need much transportation going around kuat square n etc....

i stay in ubud for 2 days, kuta 2 days
little regret of spending too much time in ubud, no time left to explore the whole kuta cry.gif

oh yeah.. don forget to bring along ur sunblock ( A MUST) icon_idea.gif
www.hotelclub.com
www.directrooms.com
www.asiarooms.com

p/s:
for other websites pls do check properly whether they have any additional taxes
not all hotels/inns are listed in the internet hmm.gif ....

have a pleasant holiday my fren

what is estimate cost need 2  go 2 Bali ?

erm, since i book through AA with the cheapest rate, so mu trip is quite a cheap one!
flight for 2: (RM 686.00 )
accomodation: kuta 2 days (RM240), ubud 2 days (RM300)
airport tax for 2: (RM80)
massage for 2, balinese (RM90) + stone (RM150)
tour for 3 days-2 person : (RM 500)
so total around RM2350..... the rest for food+shopping+clubbing brows.gif
i spent TOTAL amount RM 3000..

the tour i get is much cheaper coz i found a driver there. but his van has no air-cond, that's the poor thing- he'll bring u everywhere u wana go and also try his best to squeeze in some other places which he think u should have visited b4 going back to msia. as advantage, i got to visit lots places where not listed in the 'tourism' brochure. he's different from other drivers as he'll accompany you to visit those "pura" and explain the rules so that u wont get lost !!! i still keeping his contact num,in case any of u need it just PM me rclxms.gif
his name is KETUT... cute one

QUOTE(peachgirl @ Jan 13 2007, 04:22 PM)

i stay in tis hotel while in Bali.. about RM40+ for non aircond room and RM60 for aircond room.. including breakfast for 2 ppl per room.. but there no tv or water heater in the hotel... i cant really remember what name of the hotel but i think is call Sari Inn.. located in Poppies Lane 2 and turn left after see a big Billabong signboard..

its better for u to booked a room first via internet.. if not later the immigration will request which hotel u'll staying while in Bali.. Or if you dare just write any hotel name...

but i think can get better deal by walk-in.. bcos on9 booking usually got middleman...

Here are some of the pics of my past trip to Bali. Nikko is a nice hotel though but it's at the other end of the island (Nusadua) so cost a bomb of taxi fare just to get to town and back.

haha ... musang, nice to hear that you are still alive in lyn ... lolz ... really thanks a lot for the photos that you have posted.

xplodingbomb, i got the free tickets from AA and i just have to pay the taxes. I haven't decided where to stay coz it is still a few more months to go .... So, i just spend most of my time to do some research first.

Musang, is it possible to just go there and have free style travelling? Any tips?

hi,there....read all the posts of this thread...
i'm planning to go to Bali on the of April,4D 3N...but,according to 1 of my fren said, all the thing such as food, hotel, transport are very expensive there.he said becos of the booming, less tourist actually visit there.is tat true??
i've found out some package offer by some travel agency bcos i'm afraid tat if this situation really happening there,at least will not overspend.Honestly,i prefer free and easy as i can go anywhere i like, shopping, massage and etc...
thus,is tat true??or my fren went there in the peak season?so,April & May is peak season or low season??

I went to Bali last year and its really memorable. Cost of chalet, food and some wood carvings was average. Their wood carving products sold almost 1/3 of the price of the same item in KL. My groups of four bring back one bags of wood carving such as tissue box. Luckily, no additional freight charges.

Yeah, Bali always be my memorable Holidays..luv the beautiful Uluwatu, Crstal clear water at Bali cliff, Kintamani and its Batur Volcano, cool Bedugul, Tanah Lots & lots more....Fantastic Holiday. Was they in Nov 2005, 2 weeks after the 2nd bombing, visited the Raja restaurant (Bombed reataurant) near Matahari...

Due to the bomb scare, I managed to get a dirt cheap Jimmy of 550K rupiah for 4 days in Bali which is about RM180! damn cheap! Driving there is OK but watch out for the damn narrow streets everywhere. Accomodation are plenty and I stayed at Legian Balisani for RM70 per nite...(From www.asiarooms.com)....Airfare to Bali by Airasia at that point of time is about RM800 for 3 persons to & fro....Too bad missed the free flight promotion after the bombing as I booked much earlier!

Recently got a free 7 days free voucher to Bali and Will be there again for 2nd time......now thinking of places that I hv missed & probably take a ferry to Lombok!!!...Bali here I come again ...May 2007

It is all depend on individual....If u like shoppings, High rises, modern city etc...Bali is not your type! That is why young ladies, Ah Sam, Ah po, Ah Pek who prefer shopping, expecting modern city & etc feel boring visiting those temples & etc...

Bali is for those wanted something authentic, unique culture, back packer paradise and etc.....Where can u find a Hindu culture which is diff from India, Authentic Malay culture blended wth hinduism and everywhere u go in Bali is a prayer days....lotsa cultural activities.....If u dun go further South & stay in Kuta, the quality of sea water there might not interest u..i.e strong wave & no crystal clear water...Only when u venture further South to Uluwatu, Bali Cliff of further East u can get better water quality.....

So those shoppers, expecting modern culture..or crystal clear ewater, dun go here sure boring....it is a paradise island for ppl to experience authetic cultures, unique archetectual & volcano landscape.....
