Hey guys, I plan to go with airasia. Now, do u think a hotel by the beach is really necessary? Or is the kuta beach generally nice? Cos the hotel I wanna stay is Dewi Sri Hotel. Anyone been there before? Its says its near the beach but not directly on it. Also, any1 been to the diwangkara holiday villa? I really want to go to bali! 5yrs never have holiday.
ah, another question, do most of the hotels there have late checkout? Cos the airasia flight only at 20:10...so late.

I m also going to Bali, but is beginning of Aug 2007. Book the AA with RM 0.00 + Tax = RM 350 /2 pax. Going there with my gf. So, i found a lot of useful informations especially the photos is so nice. Btw, is there anyone can share with me how to book the hotel/motel? I am also looking for a budget trip but did you guys actually booked the hotel here before you reached there? Or, walked around there to look for better deal hotel? Need advice. And if i gonna book there, is August a hard time to get a hotel? Thanks.

I stayed at Nikko Bali ( at NusaDua) few months back. I din really enjoy the trip there. Everything is marked up with International prices and you have to bargain like hell to bring it down to a more decent level which I still feel is expensive for a place like Bali.
Denpasar is like KL in the 80s. The decent mall I went to was Discovery Mall where the souveniers are cheap but the mall itself wasn't that big.
Must try the BAKSO (fishball noodle soup). U can give the Babi Guling a miss as it's just one or two slice of roast baby pig skin and some mashed/chopped up pork with some marinate eaten with rice.
However, do buy the Branded genuine clothings from Discovery Mall as it is cheaper than in KL. I bought many Nautica shirts and shorts from the Nautica Boutique. Tons of Polo shops there but the 'horse' damn big one hahaha. Overall, I would choose Bangkok many many times over compared to Bali. Nothing really to shout about except the beaches. and give Tanah Lot a skip, simply a waste of time.

QUOTE(syazhero @ Jan 12 2007, 10:44 PM) what is estimate cost need 2 go 2 Bali ?
include all activity provided there .. ?? if u take Mas Golden Holidays, the 4D/3N free and easy fare will cost u RM1500. U get to stay at Nikko, one of their best hotels there. But u get ripped off big time as the tour agents know u stay at nikko and will inflate prices and take u only to places where they will rip u off. Stay at Kuta. better if u want to go shopping. in fact, all u need to do is to take a flight there and ask the cab to recommend a place to stay according to ur budget. no need to book before hand as bali has tons and tons of hotels and motels and budget inns. and charter a taxi for a full day for about USD60. DO NOT engage a tour agent cos they will bring u to stupid souvenier places (wood and silver factories) which will rip u off. I paid USD200 for a Goddess wood carving only to find that it is actually mass produced and is sold for USD25 at Discovery Mall at Kuta. Try not to stay at Nusadua area (east side of Island) as the commercial activities/ places are all located at the west side of the island.

All u need to do is to reach there. get a cab and ask him and he will tell u. do a search on Bali and got tons of hotel websites. then also got those day tours. but charter a taxi for about USD60 a day and he will take u everywhere

And what if the taxi driver might not be so nice...

May i know what is the range of the price and how much difference if we got to book it online compared to book it on the spot? Need some opinions on this because travelling overseas is very the risky if we did not prepare in advanced. Just a bit worried ....
