People who go to this length to do keyboard customization probably have more keycaps set than keyboards.

Though the option to order switches, would be a plus.
The more sought after are Milk and Clear Switches.
But Clear switches are hard to find, don't think Vortex has that.

WASD's new "Code" series will be featuring white LED back lighting and only come with Cherry MX Clear switches. Wish come true for many. I'm waiting for V2 and hoping there's a TKL version. Well, if I can wait that long as this TKL/87 itch I have is getting worse. Needs to be scratched.

EDIT: Stupid Swiftkey!!!

Hi everyone,

Looking for a mechanical keyboard, budget of RM300 or less. No glossy surface/keys, please smile.gif

Things that don't matter to me:
-LED
-TKL/full
-Macro keys/programmable keys/all that jazz

Things that matter:
-Reliability/quality
-Warranty

TLDR: Something basic, good value for money, and I'm guessing that my budget is considered "entry level". Will decide what color switches to get with a hands-on when doing the actual shopping.

Planned use: gaming @ home (SC2, etc), some typing ala chatting/CV updating.

Any recommendations as to what model/brand I should look at?

I'd say cm quickfire rapid for tkl or Rosewill RK9000I. You seem new. I'll recommend the Brown switch for you.

Stupid swiftkey autocorrect. Didn't realise it. I meant cherry MX Clear. I have no idea how swiftkey put in "Celakalah".

Ok, I'm a bit of a WASD fan especially since they use Costar. Waiting for the V2 to get my own fully customised (because I'm too lazy to do it myself and can afford to pay for someone else to customise it) WASD keyboard.

If TKL become fullsize, I'd straightaway ask refund already doh.gif

If you are fully customizing your own keyboard, there's no point to get Costar stabs.
Modifying Cherry Stabs would be much much better.

Easier to replace keycaps too. For most people, that doesn't matter.
But since you are deep into this wallethacking keyboarding world, you probably have more keys than keyboards tongue.gif

Problem is, I like the feel of Costar stabs. WASD builds them customised to your exact specs and sends them out to you. That just save the pain of (and time, which earns me more money when I'm actually working) doing it yourself.

Not that many keys yet. My Filco is still on stock keycaps. Still looking for nice set of PBT keycaps for them. Though I guess it's gonna cost me a fair bit more than Cherry style.

Not bringing in the High Profile version of Topre keyboards? Digressing aside, I assume the Type Heaven will fit the coloured Topre keycaps which have been circulated around since donkey years ago?
