I think he mean his experience with Realforce's PBT, smooth touching.

You also got Realforce's PBT, not? What's your opinion on it?

The touch of the Topre PBTs are sanded surface lo....
For typing experience... not exactly smooth touching la...
there is no way on describe how the Topre switch feeling la.... unless you tried one.
also the experience of silent and normal one are quite different.
variable weight force and uniform weight also are very different.

Maybe the sanded pbt is smoother than the abs of ducky and so on (not sure as the only pbt i tried b4 are by plum and vortex)?

BTW, the smooth touching I am describing the keycaps surface instead of the switch.

It's not smooth la....
but not very rough also....
compare to the Keycool white PBT spacebar I got from Taobao,
also very difficult to describe.....
but definitely different from ABS's touch.

I have sweaty finger, so when the keys are a bit dirty, eg. if I didn't clean it for long time,
it will become a bit smoother doh.gif (maybe because the dirt are sticking on the surface...) doh.gif doh.gif

But every time after I clean it, the surface will become more rough sanded feeling comparing to when it's dirty.... doh.gif
and the keys from HHKB pro2, even some keys are looking shining, the texture are still rough, same feeling with the new keys.

Smooth finishing...? for your Thick PBT Dyesub cherry keycaps?.. But why smooth finishing?
is that how they like it now days? People tend to like textured surface like sanded or matte surface right?
I think most of the traditional keycaps are sanded surface, when it's smoothed, meaning it will be slippery and people tend to replace them.... rclxub.gif

Do you mean smooth printing method? which mean the ink won't be bumped up like any other printing method right?
On the other hand, to my understanding, Realforce 87U is priced higher than the 104U, is that correct?
*
87 and 104 same price. Same case with rosewill and ducky.

Most people hate the rough texture on pbt cap. Topre and new ducky pbt dye sub are smooth. We will have demo...dont worry...come molest them

topre pbt feels smooth, for china taobao pbt, it feels slippery, so both its a different feel, but regarding about ducky pbt, i cannot confirm because i never tried it.

topre pbt has a sandblasted surface, it feels smooth, but not slippery.
china pbt has a sanded surface created by chemical, which you will feel it's slippery even thou it has a sanded texture.

p.s : coating might be contributed to the slippery, which i am not sure.

Review on the shine 3? It is virtually the same as the shine 2 but with rgb spacebar and a lot more customization options. If you want to wait for review on the yots you probably wont get a chance to own it. laugh.gif

That's the best word to describe the feeling of Topre PBTs: "Feel smooth, but not slippery." I can't find the right word to describe that before. thumbup.gif

It's not as aggressive like the PBT from China, I now see the reason, because it's sand blasted instead of chemical etching...
sand blasted are more resistant to dirts, so it won't become dirty like China PBTs...
and the texture on surface can last longer too, since it's sandblasted, not etched. I see, I see now. nod.gif

The Keycool white PBT spacebar (China) I got doesn't feel slippery thou,
maybe they have some coating or they etched it with chemical very deep...
The texture feel aggressive, but I think will collect dirt easily, and difficult to clean due to it's etching method.
not using it yet, so not sure about it... hmm.gif

IINM, YotS is based on Shine 3.
