They're few places that have LTE coverage here in KL.
You can check more details with your telcos whether your place have LTE coverage or not.
My place here at Setapak...no LTE coverage...lolz

To be fair, most of the demo units are on power-saving mode enabled (no idea why). Most of you probably would not notice this as many of us just flick the screens, open a few apps etc. The power-saving mode is what is causing the transition effects and smoothness to lag abit. Once you turn it off the phone has really neat scrolling as well as app launch times. Check it first guys biggrin.gif

Ok so I went to sleep yesterday with 51% battery but woke up to 41%. I'm sure this is not normal so any reason why? My wifi was on, it was on power saving mode and that's about it.

I know that and that is the first thing I check. So the lagging has nothing to do with it.

And if not remember wrong, only one unit turn on that stupid power saving feature.

To put a blanket statement that based only on your testing demo set at phone shop is not the right way. Many of us who already own the phone do find that the phone is not as bad as you describe.

Mine have very little lags and nearly as good as Note2. It have a bit stuttering here and there which I believe can be improve after it receive a couple of updates.

Camera seems a bit odd as quite a few user have problem with it. Maybe there's a few different batch that arrive here as NOT all of the user have this problem. Whatever it is..I hope it can be solved with the updates.

Nearly as good as Note II? The spec is fastest at the moment, it can do nearly as good only? Why it can't even fight with HTC One which clock speed much lower.

It need to be the most smooth but it wasn't.

Actually S4 is facing same issue as S3 international 1GB edition. It is hard to be smooth. Too many things/service run in background which occupied too much of RAM and left too little RAM for usage. With such big bloatware around. S4 will only smooth if it came with 3GB RAM.

Rumors Note 3 will came with 3GB RAM. If this rumors true, then only Note 3 will be another smooth phone by Samsung after Note 2. In such scenario of happen, then conclusion Samsung Galaxy S series phone no longer a great phone but instead an experiment phone.

S4 is basically is over bloated with stuffs. I have pointed out some of the gimmicky stuffs n some not even working properly. This review sums it up well. But it will still sell by millions greater than HTC One. Simply the masses doesn't care unlike some of us who are more inclined to some technical stuffs

Next time use betterbatterystats app to check wakelocks. Google for these if you don't understand. You should target for say 2-3% drop over 7-9 hours idle. Mine is consistently this range with 3g on but wifi off

You still don't get my point
It is not a firmware issue. If so every user will be affected

I had the camera reboot issue once yesterday. But today it was fine. No firmware upgrade in between.

Still sounds like firmware instability to me rather than a hardware issue.

Or it could be some 3rd party app interference?? If firmware, every user will be facing it n firmware problem will consistently give you such problems

Yes more likely. It'd be difficult to point out which one.

BTW, I've successfully rooted the device. I'd like to point out that to those who had updated their firmware some days ago, the cofface method will not work - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...62110&nocache=1

You will have to flash Adam's kernel first. Unfortunately, this kernel doesn't come with CWM. So what I did was I flashed Adam's kernel to root the phone- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2264454l. Next I flashed Cofface's to get the CWM. No need to enable root after that.

I have yet to experience the the phone rebooting while using the camera..however I do notice the slow boot up the camera

But as a casual user - I'm fine with it (almost similar to my Desire HD..so I'm used to it)

As for smoothness - I admit Iphones is smooth..but the S4 is ALMOST as smooth as the Apple products (I've got Iphone 4, 5 and an Ipad 2 at home - belonging to family members but I've had fair share of usage) I guess I'm not a perfectionist and I'm not picky

I also noticed the demo units has this default "Demo" mode? MAYBE (I'm just assuming from being a casual Android user) that mode takes abit of processing? That's why the lag? I've been using my phone for about 4 days now..I felt it's better than those demo units?

PS: Demo units tested at Digi Store in Sunway Pyramid

Oh well..that's just me laugh.gif

Anyway..I bought the new Papago! SG & MY on Google Play..just for your info..it seems to not work properly as the maps downloaded to your SD card could "not be found"..when I browse through with the "My Files" app..the files could be seen..

I've sent an email to Papago to help me out..so..those planning to get Papago! Better hold your horses for now laugh.gif

I just want to ask you guys something.. its a bit off topic but just a question about Maxis. Have any of you noticed that your data seems to be getting used up faster these 2 months? I can never ever reach my 1.5gb quota but for the past 2/3 months, i seem to be...my usage has not differed much. Just asking around as well.

I am thinking of getting the papago system as well for my phone. I don't know if i should get it from the store, or get the copy from Papago Malaysia. Which is cheaper? Both are the same right, meaning both can use Malfreemaps?
