i m using kingston ...so far so good since last Aug.

Y480 can run both 1.35V and 1.5V RAM
U can use to check ur current RAM voltage via pick it up from the laptop or using CPU-Z

y510 looks very similar to y500.

of course... basically it's the successor to y500
iinm y570 vs y580 not that much difference too (in design)

Better this way so no heart pain cause my y500 still not finish upgrade.....

Still want to upgrade ram to Corsair vengeance ram also ssd. Already have mSata. But this notebook can fly already. I don't think anyone regret getting this notebook.

Not to forget, unlock BIOS enable you get a gamer grade wifi, exchangeable panels (with 95% gamut), overclockable kepler
(I only regret is it never come with 660M GTX SLi :3

Just want to ask, could anyone share a software or mod to enable HDD activity LED on Y500 hahaha its hard to identify if the laptop is deadlock or not hahaha.. For like diverting it to any available LED indicator etc..

I use the num lock to see if it's hang or anything. u could use that too

Mind asking does y400 and y500 have heat issue?
Hows the cooling system?

it's very efficient. but u do get hot air blowing from the vents. keyboard is only warm.

using the Y400. no cooler pad. elevated back of laptop for better cooling

during gaming:
CPU: 83-88C
GPU 70-80C
uncomfortably hot on left wrist rest. hot air coming from the left exhaust vent. fan is surprisingly quiet though

on normal usage: web browsing or typing (MS office) - cool
watching HD movies: a little warm

you can look at thundermatch store...kenot guarantee stock got or not

i want to sent my y480 for repairing my trackpad, it cannot be clicked

i have meet people there, but not use their service yet....the people in the service centre is friendly and always smile...they also tell me, 'datang sini kalau laptop rosak' (because i just bought ideapad y400, and they saw me hold the laptop box )
