Are Y510 affected by this latest security bug? I cant find Lenovo Solutions Centre but I do see Lenovo Support App.

Hey guys. I'm planning to get the Ideapad 700. As its very worth it comparing the price and the specs. Do you have any advice/opinion on that? Because I've never used Lenovo laptop before. So I'm wondering the build quality and service

Still using the Y580 and my temperature when gaming hits up to 94C, anyone getting the same problems?

Also, just did a fresh install to Windows 10 which I had problems when using the slideshow function for my wallpaper, the comp freezes up for a second every time it changes and it was proving a problem since I change mine every 10 seconds. Reverted back to 8.1 and used the latest Nvidia updates (365.19) but it seems to make my games hang after 20 minutes or so. Just did a DDU and installed back 362.00 to see if it still hangs or freezes.

Anyone know of a place to replace thermal paste even though the case of the laptop is starting to fall apart? Also any good thermal paste recommendations?

94C is still cool though, I used to hit 100C and more with BF3

Sending to Lenovo is always the best options... But last time I DIY I use Arctic Cooling MX4 and temperature improves a lot...

As for the Win10 slide wallpaper, I don't know... Did you check your CPU usage and see if it spikes at those times???

I am a y410p user also, playing super safe, just upgraded to win 8.1 recently. Found out that need to update lastest Microsoft framework inorder for Intel and nvdia ui to work correctly.

Yes, the license is genuine. I'm not sure what you mean by China but I downloaded it from here.

Previously you were using W7? IINM, 8.1 drivers shouldn't have any issues.

First link is the china link, with real win10 Lenovo driver from Lenovo. Fyi china spec is Nvidia gt755m.

I was updated from win8, genuine copy also. I mean win8.1 need framework v4.5.2 for some software to work correctly, jz for info..sloved..


Please try the china link see can help Ur WiFi problem or not..I concern whether got problem for gaming in win 10..aimed for year end battlefield1..

Nope, CPU usage doesn't spike. It's just the GPU switching from Intel to Nvidia to change the wallpaper then back to Intel after wallpaper was changed.

I formatted the laptop once more and installed 362.00 for my Nvidia drivers. The freezes and less now but they still happen once in a while.

Also wow, 100C? Wouldn't that start melting your hardware?

EDITS: Also has anyone found a way to control the fans in the Y580? I have an unflashed bios though

aahhhh... I usually just make the system to always use Nvidia GPU because I have an issues where the GPU always go AWOL when I need it because it went sleeping and never get to wakes up... probably why I didn't have much issues.... but normally I don't let the system auto manage which GPU it should use for me because I always face problems when somebody else auto manage for me....

I would definitely recommend you to assign which application specifically to use the nVidia GPU and default everything to Intel's iGPU since you use that, that way you can have less headache in the long run but definitely big headache setting that up. Totally understandable if you don't want to do that (thus the reason why I just defaulted to always use nvidia gpu)

100C doesn't melt you hardware yet and as I recall correctly, it is right below temperature setpoint for throttling...

as for controlling the fan, you'll need customized BIOS IINM... Or maybe you can try SpeedFan????? But still, if the BIOS doesn't provide the hooks, you can't do anything....

After updating my lenovo y50-70 to the latest windows 10, my laptop is now unable to go to 'sleep' after trying many solutions listed online already (unless I turn it on manually)

"upgrades" are usually buggy like that.

Welp, found out my fan was clogged af. Cleared it up and it's gaming at a 70C+ right now. Only problem I still have is I can't play games on dual screen anymore or else it will freeze. Gaming on one screen is fine and I can live with that.

Guys, i updated my y410p mobo bios from 1.06-> 3.05 due to gpu problem.... but then my hardisk has turned from UEFI to legacy....

Is that normal?

my lenovo y40-80 got battery indication problems, shows 1hour to go then dies off. happened after win10 upgrade. any idea on what to do?

called lenovo they say the one key optimizer is outdated, uninstall OKO and use lenovo settings. case solved.
by the way, our battteries cycle and charge he said averaging 400 cycles. new replacement battery only is rm550+6%. if inclusive of install is rm636 all in.

that's pretty expensive for a battery, but built in what to do?
anyways installation is not hard, just a matter of a few screws, it's getting the right polymer pack that fits that's hard.

Hi, any users of Y480 or Y580 encounter wifi issue after upgraded to windows 10?
The network adapter seem working fine but however the wifi is unable to turn on after the upgrade, any suggestions on how to resolve this?

yeah... i wonder if it can fit a slightly larger pack?


by the way, please check your warranties, if you buy from retailers, the warranty starts when the item is first shipped from the factory, not the date you buy. you then have email them the receipt so they can change it to date purchased.

I've had zero issues on my Y580 with Win10. In fact, a lot better compared to Win8.1... Try to get latest wifi driver from Lenovo or from the chip provider (it's either Intel or Broadcom IINM)
