To be fair, they do do fogging every weekend. But still, it is just not enough. I think the ponds around the housing area need either more fish, or at the very least to be turned into water features perhaps that keep the water running and not stagnant as it is now. And yeah, all they know how to do is to chase for payments, yet without giving back payments to the owners, as well as actually getting anything fixed in the neighborhood. For instance, the roads. The god damned roads. Sweet lord they are so bad coming in. And for a private guarded and gated development, it seems they just about allow any Tom, d*** and Harry to use these wander about unchecked.

I also just recovered from dengue fever! Terrible!...They should seriously look into this matter and find a solution to it. It is dangerous when it happen to the high risk group of ppl like infants and old ppl..

We did make a report to the management. And i did see a few of the workers wandering about at the pond next door to my house, but that was the extent of it. We didn't actually receive any formal notice that something was being done. That being said, they have hung some banners around the housing area talking about destroying aedes mosquitoes. So we are at war over in my house.

The management of course. It's one of those landscape ponds that are the dividers for the houses? So it is definitely under the managements responsibilities. Otherwise i have no idea wtf i am paying maintenance for. cool2.gif

Hah! Have you gotten the latest email from Genesis? They are going to put Abate larvacide for both our tanks. Basically this needs to be done on a quarterly basis. Price per session is RM15, but for the first round its free.
What about the second round? Are we going to pay for it? Does this mean we end up paying for the developers mistake in designing this rainwater harvesting tank?

It really is a joke.....we are going to be charged for something which we don't use, and never required but is also creating breeding grounds for the mosquitoes. The mgt are paid maintenance exactly for keeping the grounds clean so why are we charged for something which they are already paid to do in the first place

is it anyway or any rules to form or manage the housing area by resident instead of depend to this silly management? or look for other better management to manage it?

If all of us voice out to get the water tanks removed, which I believe most of us would agree, I wonder if that would be a strong enough case for management to get rid of them. Then no need to spend rm15 every quarter to put the abate. Also, if my understanding is correct, the abate is only good if the water (+ abate) is still in the tank. If all water has flowed out and new water is filled in, then will need new abate d.

since the cause of the dengue is due to the corner units, can report to local council and 'saman' the owner/developer on this.

I do not think voicing out our opinion will work. The reason for this is because of the green certification that the developer has been awarded. To maintain that green certification they need to follow a lot of different rules and regulations as well as ensure the place remains a green community. For instance, even though the bicycles are obviously just for show (since the only people who use them are the guards) they will need to be kept on the grounds at all times.

The management of the housing area will be given back to the residence once the residence have formed a Housing Committee. This will be done 1 to 2 years down the road. As for now Genesis is managing the place. Later on it will be split 50-50 with the committee and then finally (probably after we have all died of dengue) it will be given whole to the residence.

It's also due to the water tanks in all the houses. And if the aedes larvae are found breeding in these tanks, it is the owners who will be getting the summons. FML.

Yeah, the guards in this place are extremely bad. They just let anyone in. Especially all the bikers. I come home late most of the time, and especially at night i see them letting in all kinds of undesirables.

Of course not easy to manage, this is a tough job. What we can do is hire another good management property company to manage for us. Then we can remove silly tank.

so basically, the potential cause of dengue is 2 nos:

1) landscape pond (managed by Genesis)

2) rainwater harvest tanks in houses (managed by residents)

if the residents can't remove the tanks, is there anyway to permanently seal it?

I guess one way is that u could keep the taps switched on, so there'll be no water retention in the tanks
