off topic here
fx_53_xt, what crappy cable they give you for the mx5021?
and what cable you changed it?
how much?
where can i find it?

the speaker isn't belongs to me.
it's my sis's bf so i'm not sure what is the exact model.
anyway, he changed the 3.5mm to RCA signal cable from stock to a pretty big one, and changed the satelite speaker cable to dunno what brand OFC cable.
and then connected the satelite speaker from his onkyo sound card through an t-amp (http://www.tnt-audio.com/ampli/t-amp_e.html) , without going through sub woofer cuz according to him it's better not to use the integrated amp of subwoofer

p/s : both cables is from taiwan and onkyo sound card bought from japan. doh.gif

without going through sub woofer? then you have to adjust the satelite volume and the woofer volume saperately?
hell no, i won't do that =P
the woofer amp and crossover section is anyway THX certified. within that RM 700 price range, i think that is the best you can get, powering it with an Tamp not neccesery will bring much benefits than powering it using intergrated amp.
as he is so percise until unhappy with the built in THX amp of altec lansing MX5021, buying the MX 5021 itself is just a big mistake.

I love my Klipsch Promedia 2.0 Ultras. They are an absolute bargain for my hard-earned RM380.

Of couse the bass is nothing to shout about. I told myself not to expect too much, this is a 2.0 after all.

yup, separately
anyway, after test it around, there is really difference using the external amp than the integrated one. external amp sound cleaner than the built in one.

anyway, heard from someone THX certification company is no longer owned by LucasArt, therefore the certification no longer stay neutral. anyone can clarify this?

I've got it too. I had it shipped over from US 3 years ago. sweat.gif
Love the speakers, but dun feel much about the woofer compared to Altec's. unsure.gif
Is it necessary to change the cables to boost quality? blush.gif

i'm a gmx user and been using it near to 2 years and i dont find its for techno heads. i think most probably it depends on the sound card. b4 that i played with my friends audigy 2 and its kindda blur and boomy, then i bought myself a auiotrack optoplay. it has more details la and the bass its not that boomy. my sub is set to 11o clock.

anyway i stuff some socks into the port hole so i can get a more tight bass and it works la. at least tighter than b4.

i thought the purpose of the port hole is to provide a way for air to escape from the sub? wont you be blocking the passageway if u stuff socks in it?

Yo lgs bruther,

Klispch Promedia 2.1 does not have "ultra" version la, only the 2.0 has the Ultra behind the name. The 2.1 ProMedia has the THX-Certified tag-line though as seen here:
http://www.klipsch.com/product/list.aspx?line=1260&type=All
This set is quite nice apart from the occasional shrill highs and tendency to boom(only in a small room, in an adequately sized room, its bass integrates quite well with the sats). One word, these are loud, very loud at a slight turn of the knob.

This set was the successful successor of the 1st Klipsch multimedia system(remember the Klipsch ProMedia v.2-400 that had some hiss issues initially) that set the world on fire with PC-hifi idealogy. Well, after that came the 4.1 then 4.2(2 sets of the ProMedia 2.1 actually), then Ultra 5.1(oops...typo here earlier, they are still selling at the Klipsch site but comes in US power ratings, so you need a transformer to use one in M'sia) and lately the subwooferless Ultra 2.0(this one didn't get so many raves as those before).

cheers
