Never buy anything from myimart - cheat people. You see their terms and conditions? You must do this and that, otherwise you lose........... Well how about when they fail to fulfill their terms and conditions - nothing - they can just tell you wait few days more........... This happened to me - their merchant - can't deliver the service. Myimart promises to refund within 14 working days - well it's already 14 working days afterbut NO REFUND revceived. Why 14 days - are we living in the 18th century??? One can transfer money in seconds now!!! Well, you and I know that they make money like this. They get their merchants to not deliver their services - they enjoy the float and make money from bank interest!!!!! So think twice of myimart - better buy from others like Groupon, streetdeal and so many others that DON'T CHEAT

Where or how are you getting the 4.2V charger? Do you mean you will separately charge the 2600/2800 cells with the 4.2V charger before swapping out the notebook cells?

I use my Lipo battery charger, hooked up to 2 magnets laugh.gif

I've got ~20 18650 cells, but use them mainly in my flashlights. tongue.gif

Any idea how's KingMax's power bank? Normally is it only 85% delivered as promised cos this thing claimed to have 8,000 mAh but I doubt that. I prefer all kind of slim version power bank.

x-treme ,

Normally for a rated 12,000mAH powerbank, how many times can charge a iphone 5 from 20% discharge point?

I got a Pineng 913 look-alike from MV PC fair last mth from this supplier http://metakey.com.my/os_view_full.php?id=651 This powerbank only gave me 4 times full charge on my iphone 5 from 20% level cry.gif and from your calculation, it suppose to give me atleast 5 times?

I suspect just a rebranded Pineng 10,000 mAH but claimed 12,000mAH vmad.gif mad.gif

I open up the cover and the so called genuine Samsung 3000mAHX4 batteries that they claimed are without Samsung logo and even without any MaH rating cry.gif rclxub.gif

Well, I'm expecting similar specs to Pineng 913 since the look is exactly the same except diff brand name. The supplier told me made in M'sia using genuine Samsung batteries.. the PC fair stall also displaying Samusng batteries kaw-kaw + free one 3000mAH battery (eh..more like 2600Mah)

This is the inner look of the powerbank taken moment ago:

if it is 12000mAh real capacity, 12000 can charge iphone 5 1440 about 5.2 times. (0 to 100%)
conversion rate take 85% as average. normally good converter is above 80%.

those other than pineng but look like pineng brand 1 are imitation. i know that because those supplier had emailed me and advertised their product.

If i wasn't wrong Samsung din't produce 3000mAh battery. 3100 and 3400 battery is manufactured by panasonic.

If you have a chance in future do open up that PN913 & compare smile.gif

BTW, I suspect it's similar capacity to PN913 i.e 10,000mAH only and thus, can only charge max 4 X hmm.gif unless you tell me genuine 913 can charge more than 4?

x-treme you are probably an EE guy.

Want to ask, what's a good digital multimeter that I can get? I have been using a cheapo China one for my occasional hacking but would like to get something better.

I see you are using 2 Victor meters. What are the differences between the 2?

Also, do you have experience with those cheap oscilloscopes that are a sort of modded Android tablet?

PART 3: Lithium-ion / polymer (not 18650 battery,18650 is similar to AA type of cylindrical battery)

Borrowed another powerbank from my friend, it say it is using Li-Po ,smaller and thinner size.(diameter of 18650 battery is 18mm,this one is less than 18mm thickness)
The rated capacity is 5000mAh,everyone can guess how much is the real capacity?
user posted image

Battery inside is thin, but is it soft one, if you press it, it will not restore back to the original position.
user posted image

The voltage regulation is not good as PINENG powerbank, it fluctuate much more.
Some of the data taken:
4.77V 0.92A
4.80V 0.93A
4.64V 0.89A
4.48V 0.86A
4.37V 0.84A

From my calculation, the real capacity is only1.82W
Rated capacity 3.7Vx5000=18.5W only9.84% is the real one.
this powerbank had been used for 1 year plus, now only remain 9.84%,1.82W even can't charge iphone for half time.

For your information
Even though there aren't sand inside the powerbank, it doesn't mean it has real capacity.
For example: I opened a powerbank, inside contain 4 pcs of 18650 battery, if I said each 18650 battery has capacity of 10000mAh, 4x10000= 40000mAh. This can charge note 2 more than 10 times. Will you believe it?  rclxm9.gif  Don't laugh, there are people will believe this.
Remember the highest capacity of 18650 battery is 3100mAh,manufactured by Panasonic. Those who said it has 5000 or 10000mAh are cheating.[/size][/backcolor]
If the powerbank is not using 18650 battery, but is Li-Po type, the price is much higher than 18650 type. Li-Po is extra thin and slim. Manufacture price also higher. Those who sell at cheap price, you know la  nod.gif

Another sharing
Anyone can guess what is this ?

It is battery but not AA type,is 18650 battery,it is used in our laptop battery, this is called 6-cell type.
This battery I disassembly from Lenovo laptop, rated capacity is 48Wh, each 18650 battery contain 8Wh, or 2162 mAh.

Everyone can see that even laptop also use 18650 battery, don't think that this type of battery not good, it is cheaper than Li-Po type.
*
Errr careful with that lipo battery, seems like ballooned up already. Not really sure(maybe the design is like that) but typically softness means the battery has problems and has released some gas(the softness might be due to a safety mechanism to prevent poisonous gas leaking).

Btw what you gonna do with thoose laptop battery? upgrade your powerbank?? brows.gif brows.gif

Maybe coz Malaysians do not have a habit of opening up stuff to see what's inside, and a general modder curiosity, except maybe for noisy motorbike exhausts.
