KTM serves more established parts of Klang/Shah Alam.

LRT 3 going to serve new areas, such as recently developed Bukit Jelutong all those. From SPAD map, it seems they are thinking of ELITE (NKVE) alignment.

Nice attempt on the map!  wink.gif

Currently drawing second one. Coming up soon...

My idea of LRT in Klang is to build at places without public transport. As for the areas that already have KTM, they can consider to build few LRT stops close to KTM stops. So that we don't have all the trains crammed into one spot biggrin.gif

Don't think they can abolish the KTM...they are still operating but with few least-frequent station closed down...so that the travel time will be fasten up... those were the suggestion given to SPAD by the transport consultants
*
There is no plan to close any KTM Komuter stations. One new station will be added, which is Eco City.

However, there is plan to upgrade the whole stuff into 'KTM Metro'. KTM Metro plan is to allow more frequent trains, up to 5 minutes during peak hour.

But, the thing is that KTM Metro will only happen if they build the bypass track for cargo trains, such as Serendah to Port Klang so that the cargo train won't occupy busy Komuter sections.

If follow highway, then might as well 'abolish' KTM.

Here is a repost of the line I made that may be considered properly. More to come.

How are they going to connect Klang to Kelana Jaya station when the new Kelana Jaya Line Extension have already been connected to the Kelana Jaya Station?

Somehow, I feel, if they want to connect LRT 3 with Kelana Jaya line, it need not be Kelana Jaya station (KJ 24).

Kelana Jaya line extension station 1 or 2 can be considered, but then station 2 might be the most suitable.

I wonder will they share the same depot as Lembah Subang too. If they share that same depot, then the same Bombardier ART will be used for LRT 3 laugh.gif

It will be easier to build as this LRT 3 can easily follow Jalan Lapangan Terbang Subang.

Here's the Klang-Kemuning-Puchong line. Interchanges at ST13 of the Kelana Jaya-USJ extension.

I think Station 1 is geographically as problematic as Kelana Jaya station. Station 2 may be okay to go near NKVE to Klang. What do you think about Station 3? It'll pass through higher density areas in Shah Alam via Glenmarie to Klang, right?

I think even without shared depot, the same Bombardier ART could be used. That subang depot already being expanded to take care of almost double the number of trains it was originally built for. Would another expansion of similar magnitude be possible?

Actually to integrate Klang-Kemuning-Setia Alam quite tedious. Unless we set Setia Alam as last stop. Setia Alam - Klang - Kemuning - Puchong.

I put roughly only biggrin.gif like agak2 which area requires train service. Kemuning is a critical one. Like no bus at all. That's the reason why more and more cars are OTR now.

Station 3 will be fine too.

It seems the fixed points of the line are Shah Alam stadium vicinity and KTM Port Klang. Routing from station 3 to Shah Alam through Glenmarie is still possible.

Further depot expansion, not sure about this, but I thought they are getting extra 14 sets of four car train as well?

Should they need new depot for LRT 3, good thing is that there is ample land east of Setia Alam.

I always believe in the capability of Bombardier ART, it can do tight curves, and do steeper gradient, hence more flexible to plan with smile.gif
