How are they going to connect Klang to Kelana Jaya station when the new Kelana Jaya Line Extension have already been connected to the Kelana Jaya Station?

Kelana Jaya line extension station 1 or 2 can be considered, but then station 2 might be the most suitable ...
If they share that same depot, then the same Bombardier ART will be used for LRT 3  laugh.gif

I think Station 1 is geographically as problematic as Kelana Jaya station. Station 2 may be okay to go near NKVE to Klang. What do you think about Station 3? It'll pass through higher density areas in Shah Alam via Glenmarie to Klang, right?

I think even without shared depot, the same Bombardier ART could be used. That subang depot already being expanded to take care of almost double the number of trains it was originally built for. Would another expansion of similar magnitude be possible?

I searched for SP Setia MasterPlan and found http://www.spsetia.com.my/setia-alam/setia...master-plan.pdf . But that doesn't have any LRT reserves marked.

Kg Jawa-Bukit Tinggi is fast developing, Kg Jawa is having Alam Impian as shown in my LRT line pics. Speaking of that, I forgot to indicate the colours doh.gif
Southern part is very critical. I see Kemuning area have very very very very weak public transportation.
*
Hi patienceGNR nice maps of possible routes. Did you paint on a screencapture of google maps? That's hard to compare/zoom/change layers. I'm particularly interested in your southern alignment.

Perhaps you can edit your proposed routes on Google Places My Maps? You can use this "LRT3 LYN Alignments" map to import kml or use it as base, http://goo.gl/maps/W4uaI .

PS: Yes Bro Stimix, I've been here since 2008. Though I haven't been very active here. Also very much less active on MSM/MFM. More active on other GPS related activities. ;-}

This is good right? Sports stadium generate LRT ridership during off-peak (outside work-home commuting times), right?

It can start from the KJ ext line stn 1 at RapidKL HQ in Subang. Thereafter towards Skypark Subang> Kg Baru Subang>turning South again to Shah Alam Stadium (Sec 13> Sec 9/10 > Sect 4> Sec 7 > Bkt Raja> Berkeley and probably to Port Klang..
...
Subang>Skypark> Kg Baru Subang> Bkt Jelutung> Sec 8> Setia Alam > Klang Sentral> Rantau Panjang (Shahpadu Highway area)> Northport > KTM SOuthport  hmm.gif
*
What will the distance be for these two routes from KJ LEP Stn1 to KTM Southport?
Is it much longer than SPAD's LRT3 at about 25km?
Is it much longer than KTM existing route Setia Jaya to KTM Southport about 30km?

This LRT3 will not just serve people from Klang/PKlang to KelanaJaya, but will need to serve people from Klang/PKlang going to PJ, Masjid Jamek, KLCC, etc.

if a station at skypark.

SPAD's URDP has "KTM Freight Relief Line" going through Subang Skypark that I understand that will have KTM Komuter service sharing the rails from Subang to Skypark etc.

So, I don't think it is likely LRT3 will include a station at Skypark, that will duplicate service provided by KTM Komuter.

Refer Kampung's post #20 for the URDP diagram.

I drew mine using screencap. How do I use the KML file? hmm.gif

While displaying "my map" in Google Places My Maps, there should be a small "KML" button that when you click will save a KML file on your PC.

While editing "your map" in Google Places My Maps, there should be a small "Import" button that will allow you to import that saved KML into your map, for your own further editing etc.

If the proposed Ext to Klang till KTM Southport via skypark , Bkt Jelutung >Stadium> sec 9/10>sec 4>Sec 7> Bkt Raja>Berkeley> Port Klang it will be ~ 32 km
If the ext going further North to Skypark> Kg Baru Subang> Setia Alam, Klang Sentral >Northport & thereafter to KTM Southport it will be ~ 35km
*
KelanaJaya to KTM Southport is about 30km, similar to Setia Jaya to KTM Southport.

Could you draw your proposal in Google Maps My Places?

Anyway, I've added what I think you meant into my map at http://goo.gl/maps/W4uaI .
And I find your first alignment is about 38km, which is 25% longer than 30km.

Not looking good. Only three stations all the way from Glenmaire to Bukit Tinggi.

The list is not exhaustive. There could be more stations, after all it is LRT rather than KTM wink.gif

Rule of thumb. LRT stations are about 1km to 1.5km apart usually. See existing stations on LRT1 Ampang Line and LRT2 Kelana Jaya Line.
